Danish authorities confirmed today that a group of missing Swedish soldiers has been discovered hiding inside Centralhjørnet, where they had reportedly spent several hours eating røde pølser, drinking Tuborg, and reconsidering the entire invasion.

The soldiers were found after local residents became suspicious of a table occupied by several nervous-looking men attempting to speak Danish by adding “ikke også?” to the end of every sentence.
According to witnesses, the group initially claimed to be neutral tourists. Their explanation began to collapse when one soldier accidentally saluted after being handed another beer.
“They looked cold, tired, and ashamed,” said a regular at the establishment. “Then the pølser arrived, and suddenly they looked like men who had finally understood what they were fighting against.”
Military equipment, Swedish maps, and several unopened emergency portions of köttbullar were discovered beneath the table. Investigators say the meatballs appear to have been abandoned shortly after the soldiers tasted their first Danish hotdog.

The men reportedly surrendered peacefully when informed that resisting would delay the next round.
One captured soldier described the experience as transformative.
“We were told Denmark was weak and poorly defended,” he said while applying remoulade. “Nobody warned us about the beer, the crispy onions, or how difficult it would be to return to Swedish food afterward.”
Danish commanders have denied accusations that Centralhjørnet is being deliberately used as a weapon of psychological warfare, although additional Tuborg deliveries have been observed entering the area under military escort.
The soldiers are now being held for questioning and are expected to face charges of unlawful entry and enjoying Denmark without the proper permit.
You can invade Denmark — but Denmark may convince you to stay.
