If you've been playing WarEra for a while, you've probably noticed something about those four bars at the top of your screen.
They keep coming back.
Slowly.
10% every hour.
And that little detail creates one of the most useful habits you can build in WarEra:
Your four main status bars regenerate at 10% of their maximum per hour:
⚔️ Lives — used for attacking in battles.
🍖 Hunger — used to consume food and recover health.
⚡ Energy — used to work for other companies.
🏭 Entrepreneurship — used to work in your own companies.
So, if one of these resources is empty, it takes roughly 10 hours of regeneration to refill it completely.
That's where the idea of the 10-hour cycle comes from. (War Era)
But here's the important part:
The goal is to use your regeneration before your bar stays capped.
Once you're sitting at the maximum, additional regeneration can't give you more than the cap.
So every hour you spend sitting at full capacity is potentially an hour of regeneration you're not using.
You don't need to constantly check WarEra.
Instead, make your logins meaningful.
Every time you come back, take a minute and ask yourself:
Check your four bars.
If your Energy is near maximum, work.
If your Entrepreneurship is full, produce.
If you're preparing for a battle, consider whether your combat resources should be used now or saved for a meaningful fight.
Don't spend resources just because you can.
Spend them because you have a reason to.
This one is especially important.
Missions are a major source of XP and progression, and several community guides consistently recommend prioritizing them. (War Era)
And there's an important quality-of-life improvement in v0.25.1-beta:
Completed mission XP is now auto-claimed, and action buttons can show live mission progress, including which missions are connected to that action. (War Era)
So instead of randomly doing things and hoping you're progressing:
Check what the game is already asking you to do.
Then combine your actions.
If a mission asks you to work, don't just work for the sake of working.
Work and complete the mission at the same time.
That's free efficiency.
Here's where many new players make a mistake.
They see a war.
They want to fight.
They put everything into combat.
And then they discover they can't afford to keep fighting.
Several recent WarEra guides recommend prioritizing the economy early, particularly Energy and Production, before heavily investing in combat. One guide specifically argues that combat becomes economically sensible much later than the first levels. (War Era)
Why?
Because fighting costs resources.
Your economy is what keeps those resources coming.
A strong economy gives you the ability to keep participating.
Think about Energy differently.
It's not just a blue bar.
It's basically your ability to work and generate value.
Energy regenerates at 10% per hour, and working consumes Energy. (War Era)
So when you let your Energy sit at maximum for hours, you're not just "saving Energy."
You're potentially wasting future regeneration.
The same principle applies to Entrepreneurship if you're actively using your own companies.
Owning companies isn't enough.
Your companies need to actually produce.
Recent economic guides emphasize that Entrepreneurship is what allows you to work your own companies, while Production affects how much you generate from that work. (War Era)
So when you return to the game:
Check your production.
Check your resources.
Check your market.
Then decide what deserves your next cycle.
This is probably the most important part.
The 10-hour rule does not mean:
"I have to open WarEra every 10 hours or I'm playing wrong."
No.
Real life comes first.
Sometimes you'll be busy.
Sometimes you'll sleep longer.
Sometimes you'll simply forget.
That's fine.
The point is to understand the game's regeneration system so that when you do log in, you know what to do.
You don't need to babysit the game.
You need a rhythm.
Think of it like this:
LOG IN → CHECK MISSIONS → SPEND REGENERATED RESOURCES → WORK / PRODUCE → CHECK YOUR GOALS → LOG OUT
Then come back later.
No unnecessary clicking.
No random spending.
No trying to be online 24/7.
Just efficient cycles.
There's a trap here.
Once you learn about the 10-hour rule, you might think:
"My Energy is almost full. I have to spend it NOW!"
Not necessarily.
If you don't actually need the money, don't blindly work.
If there's no reason to fight, don't burn your combat resources.
If your company doesn't need production right now, don't force an inefficient action.
That's a much better way to play.
WarEra isn't really about being online the longest.
It's about making better decisions with the resources you have.
A player who logs in constantly but wastes Energy, ignores missions, and fights without an economic base isn't necessarily progressing faster.
Meanwhile, a player who understands the cycles, completes missions, builds an economy, and chooses when to fight can get significantly more value from the same amount of time.
So next time you close the game, remember:
They'll keep regenerating.
10% per hour.
And when you come back...
Don't just ask:
"What can I click?"
Ask:
"What's the best use of what I've accumulated?"
That's when you're no longer just playing WarEra.
You're managing it.
