The Blue and Yellow Resistance

Reports from the front speak of heavy fighting along narrow forest roads and abandoned villages. Several Swedish units have been forced to retreat deeper into the coniferous forests to avoid Dutch artillery and mechanized columns.

At dawn, explosions were heard outside Torsby, Värmland, where Home Guard soldiers together with regular army units attempted to slow the enemy advance. Smoke hung thick between the trees as civilians were evacuated further east.

At the same time, concern is growing in Stockholm. The government has warned that the war may become prolonged. Volunteers are streaming into the armed forces, while railways and roads are being used around the clock to transport ammunition, medical supplies, and reinforcements to the front.

Despite the losses, the resistance continues.

“As long as the forests stand, Sweden stands,” a Swedish officer said in a brief statement before communications were cut.
