I was flying on a plane, nervous as a half-fucked mother-in-law, and tapping on my phone. I got into some new business, even in Nicaragua, but logistics were a huge problem. Some magical plant appeared, a marvel in pharmacology, and everyone went crazy for it. The factories were upgraded, the warehouses expanded, but the shipments never arrived.
A couple of hours later, I landed at the airport in Madagascar, then took a car to Mahajanga where I was met by Zhile (my big snake, top secret military project), who was listening, spellbound, to a tall young man in a long brown trench coat.
“I'm Mr. Swan, my pleasure,” the young man extended his hand. Although his voice was nervous, there was determination in his eyes.
We shook hands.
“Well, Mr. Swan, what's the problem? Where are the ships, and why aren't my deliveries arriving?”
Mr. Swan cleared his throat, wiped his sweaty palms on his coat, and began to explain in a deeper voice:
“You see, kind sir, I'm a businessman. A serious businessman. But how can my workers take me seriously when I don't have a flag?”
I was confused, and it showed.
- You see, the Mozambique flag is printed upside down and as such, it can't pass customs and international controls. And Vatou, the owner of the only flag factory, won't print it correctly. My men don't want to work for a reason, and my ships can't sail. The whole business has come to a standstill. And it's all Vatou's fault."
Zhile hissed peacefully. Only then did I see that he had painted himself in the colors of the Mozambican flag (the right way around, not upside down). It seems Mr. Swan had taken a liking to him.
- I understand, but what am I supposed to do? -
- I'm sorry, the only thing I can do is offer you stamplers in exchange for goods.”
“Stamplers?” I thought it was a code for something, but it turned out it wasn't.
“You see, I have samples here." Mr.Swan opened his briefcase and showed me a couple of different stamples. -With this amount, you could establish a monopoly in your country and be a serious businessman. Like me.-
I thought for a moment and accepted when bright idea came to my mind. Mr. Swan's relief was visible. We shook hands, and then he took out a flask and we toasted the new deal.
A special shout-out to @Mr.Swan, check out his articles, you won't regret it. Everyone who supports the efforts gets a special purple stapler.
