I am The Fatican. Some of you know me well. Some of you know me only through the noise I have made. I have been here since February, and in that time I have done a bit of everything. I founded the UPI and later left to start the Independents of Ireland Party. I have been a congressman, Vice President, and MoFA. I have written legislation, fought in wars, and spent more hours on this game than I care to admit.
I am also the founder of The Irish Cassette, our national newspaper, and I run the Irish War Chronicles, which I use for begging articles during peak wars. I like to tie them all up for the memes. My whole play style in this game used to be simple: do it for the lols. But recently, with the help of Cian, I have switched to an efficient war build. So now I am playing the game, quote unquote, properly.
In the last month and a half alone, I have tripled my wealth. I have built up 11 factories. I have been putting in the work, not just in my personal life, but in the game too. When I said I wanted to change, I meant it. And I have been proving it.
I am not here to pretend I am the perfect candidate. I have a temper. I have a loud mouth. I have made enemies and caused headaches. But I have also shown up, term after term, and done the work.
Why am I running for president? Because I think I can do it well. Not because I am owed it. Not because I am the best person in Ireland. But because I have ideas and I have the drive to see them through. I want to leave Ireland better than I found it, and I think I have the experience to actually make that happen.
By running, I would be one of Ireland's first independent party presidents, except for maybe when the game first started before the NPI was founded. It would be an honour to be the first kind of neutral president, which is ironic given my history, but I think it shows how much I have grown.
I already have a good list of cabinet members in mind. I have the confidence that between my experience and theirs, there is no possibility of Ireland coming out worse than when I came in. It can only get better from here, especially after a great term by Marty.
I am running because I care about this community and I want to contribute to its future.
Create an Ireland History Channel / Timeline
A dedicated space in the Discord or a document that walks through major events in Ireland's history. Designed so new players can read it and understand how Ireland got to where it is today. This will help build a sense of identity, pride, and continuity.
Key events to include:
The Rag era and the racist rant that split Ireland and led to the founding of the UPI.
The founding of the UPI and the early days of organised Irish politics.
The founding of the PFP.
The baby booms that helped Ireland grow from 25 to 30 active citizens to nearly 200.
The first invasion by the Dutch.
The formation of the alliance with BEER.
Key congressional moments like the First Amendment and major acts.
The revamp of the Discord server and the clean up of the community.
The foundation of Ireland's own app.
Kyle leaving for Kuwait and the transition period.
The shift in relationship with BEER and the current state of the alliance.
Foreign Policy & Military
Continue Ireland's actions as freedom fighters.
Once that is achieved, look further outward from there.
Get Ireland more involved in world politics and become a key player on the international stage.
Return to Foreign Affairs after a few months of retirement. I almost singlehandedly ran most of Ireland's FA for months as MoFA, and I am ready to step back into the hot seat.
Just because I am going for an Ireland focused, community focused month does not mean I will neglect any foreign affairs duties, obligations to friends, or defending ourselves when needed. Those responsibilities will still be met.
Economy
Continue the extensive work done by the Ministry of Economy that took Ireland from a country that used to have very little money in the bank to consistently having tens of thousands.
Recruitment
Continue to push recruitment through more posts and ads, building on the work that Keon and others have already been doing.
Community & Engagement
Do more community focused initiatives.
Shoutouts for people who help with contracts, like Keon does.
Donation shoutouts, like Adro does.
Introduce a few more metrics and tracking systems for people to follow their contributions and progress, such as top damage dealt so there is recognition for both war players and eco players.
Community game nights or drinking nights have been mentioned before. I would love to see at least one of them happen during my term if elected.
Keep the community feeling involved, appreciated, and engaged.
My Main Focus
My term will be majorly Ireland focused. Teaching players, helping them grow and understand the game. Building strength as a nation. Making genuine friends within the community. Overall, strengthening the community as a whole. That is what matters most to me.
Final Words
I know I am not everyone's first choice. I know I have a history that makes some people hesitate. But I am asking for a chance to show you what I can do when I am focused, when I am calm, and when I am working for Ireland. I am not the same person I was a few months ago. I am trying to be better, and I hope you can see that.
