The golden age of internet memes

Hey fellow warriors!

The grind is real and the resources flow slowly.

I am once again asking to throw some coins in my hat, and in exchange I will make you remember the good ole times of the interwebz!

Do you remember Good Guy Greg?

It was waaaay back, in 2011, when, coming from 4chan, the image of a square-jawed man smiling with a joint in his mouth flooded the webz. The captions described him as kind, generous or empathetic to other people.

He was the perfect antithesis of Scumbag Steve.

A young man wearing baggy clothes, a sideways fitted cap, and standing in a hallway. As the name implies, the meme portrays him as an opportunistic, freeloading teenager who causes chaos and disruption in a variety of social situations.

While there is still some controversy on who Good Guy Greg really was IRL, we know the name of the person depicted as Scumbag Steve, Blake Boston, also known as "Weezy B."

He also made a clip

Who keep smoking all your weed?
SCUMBAG STEVE, SCUMBAG STEVE!

Another well known character from that era is Overly Attached Girlfriend,

An Advice Animal image macro based on a webcam photo of vlogger Laina Morris. The accompanying captions depict her as the stereotypical overly attached girlfriend, exaggerating traits such as clinginess, possessiveness, and excessive affection.
Some of them were actually very funny.

Oh how many of them, like the advice animals, the red/blue penguin, the 'Yo Dawg' guy… But that will be for another time, for another article.
