The grass is Blue...
Have you ever wasted your energy trying to convince someone who completely refuses to see reality? This story is for you.
One day, the donkey and the tiger were chatting in the valley. Suddenly, the donkey looked at the ground and stated:
— "Look how beautiful this blue grass is!"
The tiger, taken a back, looked at the green grass and replied:
— "You are mistaken, my friend. The grass is green."
— "No, it's blue! I'm telling you it's blue!", the donkey insisted stubbornly."
The argument grew so heated that they decided to go before the King of the Jungle, the lion, so he could pass a definitive judgment.
Upon reaching the throne, the donkey rushed forward, shouting:
— "Your Majesty! Tell this ignorant tiger that the grass is blue. Isn't it true?"
The lion looked at him and calmly replied:
— "If you say it is blue, then the grass is blue."
The donkey celebrated happily and demanded a punishment for his rival. The lion nodded:
— "The tiger shall be punished with five years of absolute silence."
The donkey trotted away, laughing and repeating to himself: "The grass is blue...".
The tiger, indignant yet respectful, accepted the punishment. However, before leaving, he approached the lion privately and asked:
— "Your Majesty, you know perfectly well that the grass is green. Why have you punished me?"
The lion looked at him with wisdom and answered:
— "The punishment is not for the color of the grass, tiger. It is because it is unacceptable for an animal as intelligent and brave as you to waste valuable time arguing with a donkey... and on top of that, to come and interrupt me with such a question."
The greatest waste of time is arguing with fanatics or stubborn people who do not care about the truth, but only about being right. When ignorance screams, intelligence falls silent.
