Hello everyone,
Issue Number 7 of The Irish Cassette is here, and a lot has changed since we last spoke.
I know I am late on the Kuwait situation, but I had to deal with the Congress elections and a few other bits. As they say in Ghostbusters 2, better late than never also sorry kyle told you I'd post it 🤣.
Ireland has officially adopted Kuwait as a proxy. Our former President KyleTheTank, along with some of the lads, left Ireland a few days early before the elections to head over to Kuwait and get things set up. The plan was to make Kuwait a great country and a strong member of the world stage.
It was a bold move for Ireland. We expanded our influence, took on new challenges, and showed we were not afraid to make bold moves on the international stage. Kuwait has a lot of potential and with the right guidance and support, it can become a serious player in the game.
Hello everyone, KyleTheTank here using the national newspaper to outline my reasons for moving to Kuwait so suddenly. I know many people saw my sudden exit as problematic and generally bad for Ireland but hopefully when you hear my reasoning you may reconsider.
I had two main reasons for leaving that may surprise you. Firstly, I feel confident that working closely with Yemen in this corner of the world we can secure a bonus resource percentage that is impossible to secure from our current location. Our tax deal we ran previously proved to be a great success and if we can seize the means of production down here and offer our tax rebate deal to the world we can cement Ireland and Kuwait as key to the world economy.
My second reason for leaving will probably surprise most people. I think that my presence in Ireland was stunting the growth of our citizens. This may seem strange but let me explain. It was a week before the election and not a single article, statement of intent to run, or chat about elections had happened. The previous two elections and even the ones before that have always just been two big hitters duking it out, with the citizens safe in the knowledge that both candidates had the know how and credentials to lead. This is not good for the game or Ireland. What Ireland needs is people stepping up to the plate and shooting their shot like we have now. We already have fresh faces stepping forward into the role now that the old guard is stepping back and that is what makes the game fun and healthy for everyone.
Since Kyle left, something else has changed. The relationship between Ireland and BEER has soured in the eyes of a lot of our citizens. To be honest, it was rocky before, but Kyle was the one holding it together. He was the bridge. He was the one who kept things civil and made sure both sides could work together. With him gone, that bridge is gone too.
I want to be clear about why people are upset. There are a few specific concerns that keep coming up.
First, people are starting to think that BEER is no longer defence focused and is turning expansionist. That is not what we signed up for when we joined BEER. We joined for mutual defence and protection, not to be part of someone else's land grab.
Second, the planning within BEER has become short-sighted and confusing. It takes them way too long to agree on anything, and by the time they make a decision, the moment has often passed. It is frustrating to watch and even more frustrating to be caught in the middle of.
Third, people feel that BEER's resources are directed to very specific countries, leaving the rest of us shafted a lot of the time. It seems like a few members get all the attention and support while others are left to fend for themselves.
I want to be clear. People recognise that BEER is the reason we are where we are today. We would not have grown into the country we are now without that alliance. But there is a growing belief that the meaning and reason behind BEER no longer aligns with the current needs of Ireland. What worked before may not work anymore.
I am not calling for a war. I am not calling for a split. I am just stating a fact. Trust has been damaged. The goodwill that existed is not what it used to be. And that is something we need to be honest about as a community.
For this issue, I wanted to share these thoughts openly. Ireland deserves honesty. We have built something special here, and part of building something real is being willing to say when things are not right.

I am still looking forward to Ireland's future. I still believe in this community. But I also believe in being honest about where we stand.
