I spent the day reading the WarEra Wiki as I awaited the results of Ethiopia’s Congress elections. Motivated to make positive change in Ethiopia, I put in my bid for congress that morning, and although there wasn’t much competition, I was still anxious to see if I made it or not. After sitting in the lobby of the Congress building for hours, a member of the election committee came on the TV to announce the results of the congressional elections.
Together with a small crowd of politicians, we listened to the results, and I was excited to hear that I had been elected into the Ethiopian congress! My heart was filled with pride, a little disbelief, and a great sense of responsibility. Becoming a congressman was the first step towards something greater. It was minor progress, but with major implications down the road.
I walked around the lobby that afternoon greeting my new fellow congress members, and it was here that I met https://app.warera.io/user/6920eb146021f881e253288e. As what appeared to be the only true Ethiopian members of the government, we got into a great conversation on our common ideas for the future of Ethiopia. We both knew that more Ethiopians were needed to help strengthen the resistance against Romanian oppression, and to bring the Ethiopian government back under the control of true patriots.
That evening, I returned home and found a letter from the African Union at my doorstep. I had submitted my membership application to the AU a couple days ago, and this letter said that my application had been accepted and my membership was been approved. What an extraordinary day! I have always admired the AU for their strength and commitment to liberating all African nations from colonizers. Now with support from the African Union, a new comrade in congress, and Ethiopian recruitment on the horizon, freedom felt closer than ever before.
