The origin of the Musselman.

In the distant past, during a fierce storm on the Wadden coast, fisherman Evert found a giant mussel washed ashore. Inside the shell sat a small, living creature made of seaweed, shells, and wet sand.

“I am the Mussel Man,” he said in a bubbling voice. “Cursed centuries ago by a sea goddess because I refused to obey. You set me free.”

Since that night, the Mussel Man has roamed the Dutch coasts. He grows mussels, warns of storms, and helps fishermen. He comes from the ancient depths of the sea, born from the very first mussel, and he remains there as long as the tides last.
Sometimes you see his small footprints in the sand, with a discarded shell as a greeting.
