I ask myself, how?
Again and again, trying to make sense of it, how is it possible that a nation of 70 players, given the opportunity not only to retain all their territories without reprisals but even to expand, is capable of this? It's as if their soul is sick; I can find no logic or reason for such betrayal. How is it possible that while Venezuela was being cleansed, Colombia allowed foreign nations to take over parts of Colombia and still thanked them when they were spat on, even begging for another spit?
How is it possible that in the middle of peace negotiations, they launch a treacherous attack in the early morning? Like a coward, incapable of winning a fight fairly, they decide to feign surrender and wait for their rival to turn around to attack from behind. Although I admit, history teaches us that even preaching love and brotherhood, one cannot avoid being crucified when the soul is sick with hatred and resentment.
It's incredible how hatred and xenophobia can drive you to the extreme. And for what? Venezuela will clearly resist this stab in the back; even if they manage to take the capital, what will happen next? They don't realize they are surrounded by a brotherhood willing to fight for the freedom of independent nations, just as the great liberator once did.
Simón Bolívar, who didn't hesitate to abandon his privileges to fight to the death for the freedom of people he'd never met. He was promised power and wealth simply for having a Spanish father, yet he left everything behind and ventured across much of the Americas to fight for those who couldn't fight for themselves.
How short the memory of the Colombian people is, and it's extremely sad to think that this is the best Colombia has to offer in a game based on social issues...
If this is the best Colombia has to offer, God save us from the worst Colombians; those who, in the midst of a pandemic, were willing to evict Venezuelans from their homes simply for being born a few thousand kilometers to their right. It's simply lamentable how ego and arrogance can sometimes bring out the worst in people.
Let's hope that in the future, in War Era, a change of government in Colombia will make them realize that foreign powers don't care about Colombia at all. When they're wiped out, they'll see with their own eyes how their supposed allies vanish into thin air like a magician who, after impressing a group of children, disappears never to return.
