The Presidential Briefing #19: Kysely (Philippines)

BogoljubFebruary 17, 2026politics

Mr. President, thank you for joining us. Could you introduce yourself to the WarEra community and briefly share your journey from the alpha version of the game to leading the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c today?

Thank you for having me here. I am https://app.warera.io/user/6813b754efecdf9bab194ca4, and that actually says a lot about me. In Czech, “Kysely” means sour, and I think this name describes my character fairly accurately.

My journey in WarEra started almost two years ago when https://app.warera.io/user/6813b754efecdf9bab194c8e, also known as Baso, invited me to check out a new game.

Back then, my team was looking for a new place to play together, we had previously played E-sim and later Eclesiar. WarEra started with fewer than ten people, all committed to helping https://app.warera.io/user/6813b758efecdf9bab195068 with his passion for developing a new game.

We brought our experience, ideas, and suggestions, and over time the game developed a unique style - no p2w, transparency, honesty without useless marketing.

Since then, my teammates and I have been fully involved in everything related to WarEra, from testing, sharing ideas, recruiting new players, participating in updates, to actively playing the game.

The https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c has recently become the most populous nation in WarEra following a historic baby boom. What does this demographic milestone represent for your country?

Honestly, it is hard for me to speak fully from the perspective of the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c, because I was just existing here when it started (big thanks to https://app.warera.io/user/692ee8d8d930f58a92c19dd3 for a lot of the work).

Despite being completely unprepared, I focused on keeping the country in good shape and helping the new community get started. Passing on knowledge of the game to the new players is the least I can do for them.

I plan to return to my home team when the community decides to take over leadership. I strongly believe that the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c will remain a strong country in the region and continue to progress quickly, just as it has in recent days. I also believe that the contacts and connections we have made will last, even after I step back.

What message would you like to send directly to the new wave of players who have joined the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c during this surge?

I have written a few articles addressed to the new community (https://app.warera.io/article/698bda23067d5663f1dd7f8e and https://app.warera.io/article/698c6329d35f9742205b8784), but here I want to say directly that I wish nothing but the best for the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c.

I also wish them luck with choosing the new government and planning the next steps. I believe that, despite the problems that WarEra has, they will enjoy the game and make the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c a respected and strong country.

Rapid population growth can create both opportunity and instability. How do you plan to translate demographic advantage into long-term economic strength and military sustainability?

That is a very accurate observation. We have already seen some efforts by foreign countries to use the baby boom for their own benefit, including spreading false information or trying to employ new players with fake promises of profit. However, I believe that with hard work and commitment from active players, we can retain many new participants in the game.

Regarding long-term planning, that will ultimately be the responsibility of the new government. My role has been to share knowledge with the new players, liberate the territory, and ensure a fair share of taxes earned when the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c was part of the union with https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac820.

You previously served as a moderator and as a member of the council. For readers unfamiliar with those roles, what responsibilities did they carry?

It has been some time since I left both positions, but the main purpose of the Moderator role was — and always should be — to maintain fair play in the game. This means creating rules that can be enforced, either through the game mechanics or through moderator intervention, and helping players trust the system. Moderators also have the role of informing players and promoting fairness in every aspect of the game.

As for the council, its role was never very clear to me. According to the creator, it was supposed to make the suggestion process more efficient. However, I always believed that having a closed group of invited players causes long-term problems. Sharing information only within a small group, while ignoring the opinions of others, is not a good way to manage updates. I opposed this approach from the start and often referred to the council as a “Circle Jerking Club.”

What ultimately led you to step away from moderation and council positions?

I left the moderation team when I could no longer ensure transparency. The rest of the team decided to switch from public reports and appeals to a completely private mechanism, and at that point I realized I could not align with the new approach.

Other factors included disagreements with development changes, such as raising the bounty limit to 2B per 1k or defining a minimal wage while still making it potentially illegal to work at that salary.

Being moderator also led me to abbandon my own team and step away from active playing to avoid bias and and to the situation when I had to ban my own teammates and myself, due to me being in eco-mode and only working for them, while being busy and not active enough to produce in my own companies - leading to their boosting.

Regarding the council, I participated only for short periods, always leaving when I felt ignored. I returned a few times when asked for my opinion, but most of the time it was not listened to or taken seriously. I realized that I could not contribute anything valuable, and I was wasting my time, especially when I was called a “Basic Hater” and told I was not contributing anything relevant by the person who invited me. My Discord nickname will always remind me of this, and it serves as a caution whenever I consider spending time helping the game again.

Did leaving those institutional roles change your perspective on governance, influence, or power within WarEra?

Yes, it helped me understand how the game is managed and how difficult it is to balance resources while trying to keep all types of players happy. But I still believe WarEra can be unique, different from other games on the market, and known for being community-based, without pay-to-win mechanics, and fully transparent to the player base.

You now serve as General Secretary of the Asian Federation. For players who may not know, what is the Asian Federation and what purpose does it serve?

Coincidentally, tomorrow marks the 100th day since AF was reestablished. The Asian Federation is a strictly defensive pact of mostly Asian countries. Its purpose is to encourage cooperation and defend member countries against foreign and internal threats.

I think the success of the project depends on having clearly defined rules and countries committed to following the AF treaty. It is an honor to be in charge of this project and to work with such great countries.

How does the Asian Federation position itself within the current geopolitical climate, especially amid shifting alliances and expanding regional blocs?

AF stands strong on our values. We are watching global changes carefully and preparing for any potential threats in the region. So far, the recent war has not affected AF much, which shows that our approach and cohesion are working well.

You have been openly critical of the newest changes introduced to WarEra. What specifically concerns you about these updates, and what direction would you prefer to see the game take instead?

My main concern is that development is increasingly omitting feedback from the wider community. Most decisions are made in the council, and other players have less than six hours to respond to proposed changes. Many issues I highlighted in my articles could have been fixed before updates were implemented.

For detailed critiques, readers can check my https://app.warera.io/article/698e3c2917b7d45822257b48.

I plan to keep it up to date and react to every major update, until I am either censored or banned. My goal is to make sure the community’s voice is heard and to help guide improvements whenever possible.

This concludes our conversation with the President of the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c.

From overseeing one of the most significant population booms in the game to helping shape the direction of the Asian Federation, this interview offers insight into a leadership journey that spans from the early alpha days to the present moment.

As the game continues to evolve and new changes reshape the political landscape, the https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82c remains a country many players will be watching closely.
