The Presidential Briefing #8: Grav (Italy)

BogoljubFebruary 3, 2026politics

Mr. President, thank you for joining us. Could you introduce yourself to the WarEra community and explain how you came to lead Italy during this transitional period?

Well, thank you for the invitation. My name is https://app.warera.io/user/68e62a1f59258bd320e33a73 and I'm the newly elected President of https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7a2. Most of the community knows me from my time as Foreign Minister, a role I held for the past two months. I’ve always been very active in both global chat and the Italian national Discord, and I believe this consistent involvement, along with the diplomatic work I’ve done for Italy, is what ultimately led to my election.

Italy has gone through a turbulent phase recently, including military setbacks and leadership change. What did you identify as the most urgent problem to fix upon taking office?

It’s true. Italy has faced several challenges recently, both diplomatic and military. Our immediate priority is restoring stability and preparing ourselves as best as possible for what lies ahead. This means educating our newer players, strengthening coordination, and continuing to grow our community. The goal is simple: to be a little better every day than we were the day before.

Relations with https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba have played a significant role in Italy’s recent history. How do you assess Italy–Serbia relations today, and what lessons were learned from past conflicts and misunderstandings?

What happened with Serbia was largely the result of poor internal communication, weak coordination, and slow decision-making. At that time, Italy was struggling on multiple fronts, and war became almost inevitable due to a chain of mistakes. That said, I believe those issues have now been resolved.

Through greater awareness and a genuine desire to improve, we achieved important progress. During the negotiations I personally conducted with the Serbian government, I encountered openness, kindness, and reasonableness. Although Serbia currently occupies some Italian regions, I can honestly say that relations between our two countries are stronger now than they were before.

Italy was caught unprepared in earlier conflicts. How has your administration adjusted military planning and national readiness to avoid repeating those mistakes?

As mentioned earlier, most of our past problems stemmed from internal misunderstandings and lack of communication. Today, Italy enjoys strong internal cohesion. We work toward the same goals, without internal divisions pulling us in different directions.

Practically speaking, we are improving our national Discord to ensure clearer communication, better information flow, and stronger support for new players through structured training paths. I want to stress that this is not solely the achievement of my administration, it reflects the collective willingness of our community to improve, regardless of who won the election.

Leadership transitions often test a country’s cohesion. How did you ensure stability and unity within Italy while confidence in government was being rebuilt?

We are not a large community, and that works in our favor. Most of us know each other well, we’ve tested our abilities together, and we trust both ourselves and our comrades. That mutual confidence made stability possible.

Compared to the previous administration, what do you believe you are doing fundamentally differently as president, both in decision-making and long-term strategy?

Well, I definitely don’t plan on sending Italian gifts to Serbia again..

Jokes aside, now that the most pressing internal issues have been resolved, I don’t intend to radically change the direction set by previous administrations. My door will always remain open for dialogue, and Italy will always honor its commitments to its allies.

Italy’s position on the map places it between competing regional powers. Do you see Italy’s future strength coming primarily from diplomacy, military reform, or internal development?

Only time will give a definitive answer. My intention is to work on improving all of these areas. I’m particularly optimistic when I see new members of our community showing strong interest and commitment. That gives me high expectations for the future.

Some players argue that Italy’s greatest challenge is not external threats, but internal coordination and morale. How do you respond to that assessment?

I believe I’ve already addressed this point in earlier answers. Internal coordination and morale were challenges, but they are ones we’ve worked hard to overcome.

With recent setbacks still fresh in memory, how do you personally handle criticism and responsibility as Italy works to regain trust at home and abroad?

I’ve always lived by one principle: when too many false promises are made, words lose their value. At that point, there are no real explanations left, only better and better lies.

In WarEra, I’m not an economist or a military commander. I am a diplomat, and words are the strongest weapon I can offer my nation. Anyone who has doubts about me or about Italy can rely on this: we will do whatever it takes to defend our country’s interests.

Looking ahead, what would you like Italy’s next chapter in WarEra to be remembered for, recovery, reform, renewed ambition, or something else entirely?

Let’s just say I’m working on a small project that could turn out to be… quite interesting.
