The silent Nerf to Mercenaries nobody asked for

War Era community, we need to talk about the latest patch notes. We all know that balancing the geopolitical and economic landscape in an MMO of this scale is no easy task, but the latest update has left a huge chunk of the player base scratching their heads and, honestly, pretty frustrated.

While some changes are understandable to maintain the stability of the player-driven market, one specific tweak has set off alarms across the official Discord and the forums: the Mercenary role.

📉 A "Bonus" that feels like a joke

For everyone who decided to skip politics and company management to focus purely on combat and selling their services to the highest bidder, this update is a massive slap in the face.

The Core Issue: The damage bonus range for players choosing the Mercenary path has been left ridiculously low.

The Current Reality: What used to justify the risk of going to war for a contract now barely covers the cost of gear repairs and supplies. The damage scaling simply doesn’t compensate for the effort of stepping into hostile territory.

"Why am I going to risk my gear and income helping a faction if the current damage multiplier makes me hit like a civilian?" — The general consensus among combat players right now.

Why this breaks the War Era ecosystem

The soul of this game has always been constant conflict. By disincentivizing Mercenaries with such poor damage output, a few things happen:

Big Faction Monopolies: The largest countries or alliances no longer have to fear the intervention of powerful, independent forces.

Stagnant Market Dynamics: With fewer effective wars, the rotation of resources and the weapons trade starts to stall.

The Death of a Playstyle: Playing solo or running small combat companies is no longer viable. We are basically being forced into political bureaucracy if we want to progress.

💬 The community demands answers

The developers usually listen when the backlash is unanimous. We aren't asking for Mercenaries to break the game with one-shot builds, but a decent damage bonus is the bare minimum to make this role viable in the war economy.
