Unethical is not just a funny mercenary button.
For countries that mostly fight for themselves, it is brutally efficient.
Foreign solo fight:
HQ 20 + MU 15 + Unethical Order 30 = 65%
Own-country fight:
HQ 20 + MU 15 + Unethical Order 30 + Your Country 10 = 75%
Compare that to a normal country fighting for itself with sworn enemy:
HQ 20 + MU 15 + Country Order 15 + Your Country 10 + Sworn 10 = 70%
That means Unethical can beat the “normal” setup in selfish national fights.
No alliance politics.
No defensive pact logic.
No sworn enemy ramp.
No “please allies, carry this front.”
Just national order. Press button. Hit hard.
So Unethical is not a support doctrine.
It is the doctrine for countries that say:
“This is our war. We will do it ourselves.”

Fanatic Isolationist still matters.
But it is not the universal king. It is the support war king.
It shines when you are helping allies against one main enemy:
Help ally attack:
HQ 20 + MU 15 + Country 15 + Alliance 10 + Sworn 10 = 70%
Defend ally with defensive pact:
Defensive Pact 10 = 80%
Help ally resistance:
Allied Resistance 15 = 95%
This is where cooperation still works.
But it requires discipline:
One main enemy.
Real ally front.
Relevant defensive pact.
Actual battles, not decorative diplomacy.Fanatic Isolationist is not “I am strong everywhere.”
It is:
“When it is their war, this is my job.”

Fanatic Expansionist is being misunderstood. It is an infrastructure doctrine.
It matters if you plan to:
Expand outside your territory.
Build Military Bases.
Build Bunkers.
Build Pacification Centers.
Push deeper.
Build new Military Bases again. The problem is cost.
Military Base bonus only works from that region onward. If you keep expanding, you keep rebuilding the machine.
So yes, Expansionist can make occupation defense stronger.
But only if you are paying for the occupation system.
Without structures, Expansionist is mostly tempo.
With structures, it becomes dangerous.
The real sentence is:
First you conquer. Then you pay to keep it.

There is no universal best ethic.
This patch does not solve the old cooperation problem.
It sharpens it.
Because now long-term cooperation is more expensive, more conditional, and more fragile. Alliance value applies only when you are fighting for allies. Defensive pacts only matter in the right battle. Sworn enemy is limited. Infrastructure is expensive. Paper becomes political fuel.
So what happens next?

Do countries cooperate harder and specialize properly?
Or do big countries with big populations look at Unethical and say:
“Why coordinate when we can just run over people ourselves?”
Because on paper, this update wanted smarter diplomacy.
In practice, it may have done something else:
It weakened long-term cooperation. and make it harder to organise around it
It made support roles more conditional, It made occupation more expensive only if countries actually build pacification centar and bunkers.
And it gave big self-fighting countries a very simple button:
go Unethical, hit harder, think less. This patch did not remove the old problem.
The strong countries are still strong. The difference is that now selfish play has a cleaner doctrine, and cooperation needs actual planning instead of just calling everyone an ally.
So choose carefully.
Because after this patch, your ethic is not your ideology. It is your job description.
And if your country does not know its job?
It is not strategy. It is cosplay with upkeep.
