It is an epic and theatrical metal track, with quite a few dynamic changes: it starts with piano, strings and choir, then moves through operatic moments and half-rap, explodes into heavy riffs, screams, djent breakdowns and ends intensely. Ronnie Radke (Falling In Reverse) sings, raps and screams; Corey Taylor (Slipknot) delivers an aggressive verse; Serj Tankian (System Of A Down) comes in on a more melodic/acoustic section before the final breakdown.

Meaning

The lyrics address war, violence, genocide, religious hypocrisy and the vicious cycle of humanity. They talk about bombs falling while hell and eternity are invoked, about the bombing of schools, shootings, martyrs and the repetition of the cycle of “love thy neighbour / kill your father / kill your idols”.

General interpretations point to a criticism of the violence in current conflicts and of the way religion and national pride are used to justify destruction. The point of view seems to centre on the victims.
