Thirteen battles.

Fewer battles than last week. More damage.

This was supposed to be another fairly normal week behind the scope. Follow the wars. Answer the calls. Shoot at whichever flag required shooting at. Write down what happened afterwards.

Then someone changed how the entire world works.

Apparently citizens have legs now.

For the previous five weeks, this one could see trouble on the other side of the planet, grab the rifle and simply... appear there.

Africa in the morning. South America after lunch.

Europe before dinner.

Perhaps Yemen before bed.

Perfectly normal Khajiit behaviour.

Then the movement update arrived.

No more teleporting from battlefield to battlefield. Citizens now had to actually move between regions, spending stamina or oil to get where they wanted to fight.

Suddenly, position mattered.

Distance mattered.

Answering an allied call on another continent had a price.

And choosing which battle actually mattered became almost as important as pulling the trigger.

Strangely enough, the result was not less damage.

It was more.

WEEK 6 — AT A GLANCE

The battles were fewer, but they were more consequential.

Apparently forcing Khajiit to actually travel was good for concentration.

THE OLD WARS CONTINUE

Before the world suddenly developed roads, this one's week began somewhere familiar.

This one added 1,761,712 damage to the effort.

Then the rifle turned towards South America.

A successful revolt in the capital had finally restored an https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac832 foothold, and now the fight was about expanding from it and reclaiming the rest of the country.

This one contributed 1,243,668 damage.

Then back to Africa. https://app.warera.io/country/6873d0ea1758b40e712b5f34 revolted again.

Another chapter in the same long-running effort to push https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac82f from its African holdings.

Another 1,603,906 damage from this one.

At this point, Week 6 looked rather familiar.

People wanted the land back.

This one had ammunition.

Simple.

And then the world changed.

KHAJIIT DISCOVERS COMMUTING

The movement update arrived around the middle of the week.

No more appearing wherever the shooting happened to be loudest.

If this one wanted to fight somewhere, this one first had to get there.

Oil.

Stamina.

Distance.

Position.

Suddenly the map was no longer decoration.

The plan was underway.

But once that battle was effectively secured, there was little point unloading several million more damage into something already won.

There was another call.

Far away.

Very far away.

And apparently arrived rather motivated.

The largest single contribution of Week 6.

Khajiit has discovered that travel expenses encourage productivity.

The truce became considerably less tranquil.

Another revolt came.

No heroic story here.

No desperate shortage of oil.

No Khajiit stranded beside the road holding a petrol can.

The revolt simply did not need more damage.

For once, this one demonstrated restraint.

ONTO THE ISLAND

The next step was considerably more ambitious.

The offensive moved onto https://app.warera.io/country/683ddd2c24b5a2e114af15d3 itself, attempting to carry the momentum from the earlier operation onto the island.

This one committed another 1,749,452 damage.

But the push failed.

And at almost exactly the wrong moment, the wider structure around the fighting began falling apart.

Frustrations inside the alliance had been building for some time.

Priority was being assigned to important battles, yet aid from some countries within the alliance was not always arriving when it was needed.

At the same time, countries were attacking into allied alliances seemingly for little more than fun while genuine wars were already demanding attention elsewhere.

Eventually, the cracks stopped being cracks.

For South Africa, the timing could hardly have been more inconvenient.

An offensive was underway.

The movement update had already rewritten how quickly countries and citizens could respond to battles.

And now the alliance structure surrounding parts of the wider conflict was disappearing beneath everyone's feet.

ALLIES ARE STILL ALLIES

Its capital needed help.

Allied alliances called for assistance.

There was, however, a small problem.

This one looked at the map.

This one looked at the oil.

It had not.

The journey north was expensive.

But allies had called.

So Khajiit travelled.

Not the largest number of the week.

But perhaps one of the better demonstrations of what movement had changed.

You had to decide whether the battle was worth travelling for.

This one decided it was.

ONE LAST SHOT

The final battle of Week 6 returned this one's scope to where the week had begun.

West Africa.

By then, this one had switched to eco.

The fighting week was ending.

FROM THIS ONE'S NOTEBOOK

Six weeks.

Week after week, this one has followed the fighting wherever it went.

Africa. Europe.

The Americas.

Islands. Capitals.

Revolts. Invasions.

Alliance wars.

And occasionally battles this one probably should not have travelled halfway across the planet to reach.

Week 6 somehow became the most fitting place to pause.

Not because this one has grown tired of fighting.

Quite the opposite.

The update made battles more consequential. Instead of scattering damage through twenty-five different fights, this one fought thirteen.

And somehow dealt more damage than the week before.

Where you stood mattered.

Where you travelled mattered.

Which call you answered mattered.

Meanwhile, https://app.warera.io/alliance/6a95cd6c19dc1b1a87504d5e disappeared beneath our paws, Southern Africa erupted into another round of fighting, and Khajiit discovered that apparently international warfare now requires budgeting for fuel.

This one would very happily keep watching it all through the scope.

Unfortunately...

There is another war beginning.

Tax season.

The deadlines are advancing.

The payroll reconciliations have breached the perimeter.

Somewhere, there is almost certainly a spreadsheet demanding immediate reinforcements.

IRL is calling.

And unfortunately...

this one has to answer.

So the rifle will rest for a little while.

The notebook will remain nearby.

And the scope will be waiting.

Because From This One's Scope is not finished.

It will return.

There will be more wars.

There will be more questionable travel decisions.

There will undoubtedly be another country somewhere that urgently requires several million points of Khajiit intervention.

But first...
