They Could Not Defeat Him, So They Put Him in a Cell

Imran Khan earned his place in Pakistan’s history long before politics. He led Pakistan to the 1992 World Cup, built Shaukat Khanum hospital after losing his mother to cancer, gave almost half of what he owned to the hospital, and founded Namal to bring opportunity to young people far from Pakistan’s privileged centres. He did not simply speak about serving Pakistan. He built things that continue serving Pakistan today.

Then he entered politics and challenged the families, generals and power brokers who had treated Pakistan like inherited property.

Their answer was not to defeat him fairly.

Before the 2024 election, he was jailed, his party lost its electoral symbol, its candidates faced a sweeping crackdown, mobile services were shut down on election day and the results were forged. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan called the credibility and integrity of the election into question. Yet candidates backed by Imran Khan still won more seats than any other group. Which were later stolen from them and given to non-elected boot lickers.

Then came the cases.

Four prison sentences handed to him before the election were later suspended or overturned. Each time one case collapsed, another was used to keep him behind bars.

Imran Khan gave Pakistan his fame, his wealth, his strength, his best years and now his freedom.

He sits in prison because he refused to bow.

The establishment (Napaak army and non-elected govt) can control television screens, police barricades, courtrooms and prison gates. It cannot control the hearts of a nation that knows who it voted for.

Imran Khan is not merely the pride of Pakistan.

He is proof that one man who refuses to surrender can terrify an entire system.

Release Imran Khan. Return Pakistan’s mandate. Let Pakistan belong to its people.
