TO CONGRESS OR NOT TO CONGRESS
An investigation into a question that probably shouldn't require this much investigation.
A few months ago, I left. I stepped away from the community, took some time for myself, and left South African politics behind.
But I Came Back
Then I came back, and now, after being back for a little while, I've found myself asking a question I genuinely didn't expect to be asking again:
Should I run for Congress?
On the one hand, I could contribute again.
On the other hand...
I would have to contribute again.
On the one hand, I could get involved in the community again, help where I can, participate in discussions, and hopefully make a positive contribution to South Africa.
On the other hand, this would require me to actually be active. Which sounds suspiciously like responsibility.
I could spend the next term doing what Congress is supposed to do: discussing, voting, proposing ideas, and helping wherever I can.
Or
I could continue peacefully existing in the background and pretending I don't have opinions.
There are also some familiar faces still around.
Good friends are still here.
A good friend became President while I was gone. And another good friend has disappeared almost so thoroughly that they've become a piece of community nostalgia.
So naturally, after returning from several months away, my brilliant idea is to potentially throw myself back into all of this.
Excellent decision-making, I know.
So, I guess the question is:
To Congress...
or not to Congress?
I suppose we'll find out.
