Today I will share with you guys 5 things that happened on this day, 9th april, in the history of the world

1. 1865: The End of the American Civil War – General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House. This effectively ended the bloodiest conflict in U.S. history and began the long road to Reconstruction.

2. 1940: Invasion of Scandinavia – During WWII, Nazi Germany launched "Operation Weserübung," invading both Denmark and Norway simultaneously. Denmark surrendered within hours; Norway held out for two months.

  1. 2003: The Fall of Baghdad – U.S. forces took control of the Iraqi capital, an event famously symbolized by the toppling of the 20-foot statue of Saddam Hussein in Firdos Square.

    1. 1872: Dried Milk Patented – Samuel R. Percy received the first U.S. patent for the process of "atomizing" milk into a dry powder, a technology that revolutionized food storage and survival rations.

      1. 2005: The Royal Wedding – Prince Charles (now King Charles III) married Camilla Parker Bowles in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall.
