Today I will share with you guys 5 things that happened on this day, 9th June, in the history of the world

  1. 1815: The Congress of Vienna wrapped up today. Following the chaos of the Napoleonic Wars, European ambassadors signed a massive treaty that completely redrew the political boundaries of the continent, kicking off a period of relative peace that lasted for decades.

  2. 1934: Donald Duck’s Big Debut – The world's most famously short-tempered duck made his first-ever onscreen appearance today in the Walt Disney cartoon The Wise Little Hen. His sailor suit and fiery attitude made him an instant breakout star.

  3. 1999: Kosovo War Agreement – The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and NATO signed a peace treaty today, bringing an end to the intense air strikes and paving the way for the withdrawal of Yugoslav forces from Kosovo.

  4. 1870: Death of Charles Dickens – One of the most influential novelists of all time passed away in England at age 58 after suffering a stroke. At the time of his death, his final book, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, was left famously unfinished.

  5. 1928: First Trans-Pacific Flight Completed – Australian aviator Charles Kingsford Smith and his crew landed their Fokker Trimotor monoplane, the Southern Cross, in Brisbane, Australia. They had taken off from Oakland, California, completing the first-ever flight across the Pacific Ocean.
