WarEra World Cup 2026 — An Unofficial Community Tournament
Fellow WarEra nations, announcing something we've been working on for a while — the first ever WarEra World Cup. A full international tournament, open to all 180 nations in the game, running from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

What Is It?
A World Cup-style tournament where nations compete head-to-head using something we all do every day anyway — deal damage. Every match is decided by which nation deals more total damage in a 24-hour window (18:00–17:59 SAST). No special rules, no changes to how you play. Just go to war and hit hard.

How Does It Work?
Group Stage (June 11–28)
A snapshot was taken on the 5th of June of the top 180 countries according to total all time damage. The Top 150 Teams will be placed in a tiered draw for the group phase.
The lowest 30 ranked teams, according to all time damage, will be placed into 2 Wildcard Groups.
During the Group Phase, typical World Cup rules will apply. The Daily Damage that your country does on its matchdays are the goals scored. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. Top 2 teams from every group go through to the Knockout Stage.

Knockout Stage (June 29–July 19)
Straight single-elimination from the Round of 64 all the way to the Final. One match per day, winner advances, loser goes home. It gets brutal fast. The two semi-final losers meet in a 3rd Place Play-off on July 18, with the Grand Final on July 19.

How Are Results Tracked?
Each nation's daily damage is tracked using the WarEra Toolbox damage tracker. (e.g. Bolivia Daily damage: https://toolbox.warera.wiki/damageTracker?country=6813b6d546e731854c7ac85c&from=2026-06-07T21%3A59Z&to=2026-06-07T21%3A59Z).
Damage will be taken from 18:00 to the next day at 18:00 (South African Standard Time) and the results announced at 19:00 (one hour later).
Results are entered into a spreadsheet and will be posted regularly throughout the tournament so every nation can follow their progress. Group standings are updated daily, and the full bracket will be kept up to date after every round.

What's next?
Later today, I will post the draw of the group phase, and the first round matchups. Stay tuned for that. I will also be running some prediction rounds during the course of the event, where you can stand a chance to win Premium, Skins or Banners.

Why Should You Get Involved?
This is something I'm doing for the WarEra community for a bit of fun, maybe get some guns blazing, some friendly competition. A chance for every nation — big or small — to compete on a level playing field, represent their country. The smaller nations especially have their own stage in the Wildcard Groups, so nobody is thrown in at the deep end. Whether your nation is a powerhouse gunning for the title or a smaller nation just trying to make it out of the group — there's a place for you here. And all you have to do to take part, is do damage for your country.
