Update on the Multis in Syria & A Request to the Moderation Team

A few hours ago, we published an article regarding suspicious accounts that appeared in Syria during the election period.

At the time, we reported these accounts to moderation and raised concerns about their activity patterns. Many of the accounts were created or joined within minutes of each other, appeared around the same time, and became active during the election campaign.

Our concerns were dismissed due to a lack of evidence from "fish" and the ticket was closed.

Since then, however, several of the accounts that were reported have been banned Already

This changes the situation significantly.

The discussion is no longer about whether the accounts were suspicious. The moderation team has already taken action against some of them.

The problem is that this happened after the election had already concluded.

Why This Matters

These accounts participated during a highly contested election

Votes cast during that election helped determine Syria's leadership.

And the difference between the 2 candidtes was literally 2 votes from each other

If accounts that violated the rules were involved in that process, then it is reasonable to ask whether the election result accurately reflected the will of legitimate players.

This is not an attack against the current government

This is not an attack against individual moderators or "fish"

It is simply a question of electoral integrity

If accounts were later determined to be in violation of the rules, should an election influenced by those accounts remain unquestioned?

Our Request

We are formally requesting that the moderation team review the Syrian election and consider a forced re-election

We believe this is the fairest solution for everyone involved

A new election would allow active and legitimate players to decide Syria's future without any doubts surrounding suspicious accounts, bans, or "late" moderation decisions.

Looking Forward

However, now that action has been taken against accounts that were previously reported, we believe the situation deserves a second look.

For the health of the community and the credibility of future elections, we ask the moderation team to review what happened and determine whether a re-election is warranted

The accounts have already been dealt with.

Now the question is whether the election they participated in should be reviewed as well.
