v0.27 FAQ · ANSWERS FROM CHAT · 26 OCT 2026
Since the update went live, I read questions in Global chat, Help, and other chats. The same 12 kept coming back, so here they are with short answers. The numbers come from the official v0.27 notes. Where the notes don't say something, I tell you.

The job market is gone. Workers are now employees you hire, each with a name, age, stats and traits. The only way to work for another player is as a manager (Q3).

From my own test today: I applied to 3 manager offers and each one was gone within seconds. Keep checking Market → Jobs → "I qualify".

Toolboxes come from your employees while they work (and from some events), not from wooden crates. Each worked hour, an employee has 0.1% per Luck point, max 2%. Wooden cases now hold production points instead (Common 20-40 up to Epic 160-260).

Toolbox rarity: Common 35%, Uncommon 37%, Rare 20%, Epic 6.5%, Legendary 1.3%, Mythic 0.2%.
Tools are given to an employee, not to you or the company. In Companies, look for the small icon on the right of the employee's row (that's where I see the tool slot on my own employees).
Each tool type works for its own set of goods, so match it to what the company makes.
Boost: +3% (Common) up to +65% (Mythic). Lasts about 500 worked hours.
Tools can't be traded or sold, only dismantled for scrap.

My advice: take Energy first. Hiring, training and self-work all cost 10 energy, so energy is the real limit now.
The patch notes don't mention an energy cost for firing or a Break Room downgrade, so I can't confirm either. What the notes do say: firing gives coworkers -5 happiness for 24h (see the picture above). Hire carefully instead of hire-and-fire.
My take (not from the notes): fill the companies you already have before building new ones.
A Break Room upgrade costs 20 steel (level 2) or 80 steel (level 3). A new company costs far more.
Employees get +1% per day making the same good, up to +20%.
A company in your own country's core region gets +5%. Use your 1 free company move on the company you will fill first.
The notes say one training draw per employee per day. They don't explain trait stacking, so hover the trait icon in game to see its exact effect.

Wooden case on the map: the star-looking button on the map. (thanks Cheese)
Search equipment on the market: the plus box on the left of "Cheapest". (thanks Moth_Gambler and Luminous_Valentine)
The map grew from 726 to 742 regions, the Maldives joined as a new country, and links across the sea are now drawn as lines. That's why you see sea links like Virginia → Hawaii.
