Welcome to the first installment of the Vatican Interviews Series, where we ask tough questions and expect honest answers.
Today, we are interviewing the newly appointed President of Serbia: https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6

Question number 1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
It's your first time serving as president. How do you expect your presidency to go?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
It's difficult to predict the future, so I prefer to focus on what we can control rather than make bold promises.
Internally, I do not expect significant turbulence. The overwhelming majority of our population shares the government's vision and direction.
Of course, there will always be people who disagree, and that's completely normal.
We are open to criticism and willing to make improvements whenever concerns are reasonable and well-founded.
Looking beyond our borders, I am equally confident.
We have already demonstrated our strength by reaching the top of the weekly damage rankings despite most of our players running sustain-oriented builds.
Even more impressively, this was achieved through only a partial mobilization effort.
Compared to many other nations, our player base is also significantly wealthier on average.
This is the result of a long-term strategy focused on education, economic development, and discouraging reckless warfare among lower-level players.
Overall, I believe https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba is in a very strong position both domestically and internationally.
While challenges will always arise, I expect my presidency to be defined by stability, continued growth and steady progress rather than major crises.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 2
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
What are the biggest challenges you expect to face?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
Not turning into a full-blown dictatorship.
Jokes aside, I believe the biggest challenge will be adapting our military strategy to the upcoming patch and whatever changes it brings to warfare.
Major updates often reshape the meta, so every nation will need time to adjust.
That said, I'm confident in our ability to navigate those changes.
I've assembled a highly capable government made up of people who have already proven themselves time and time again.
We have experienced military leaders, economists and organizers who understand how to adapt when circumstances change.
Challenges are inevitable, but I don't see them as obstacles.
I see them as opportunities to demonstrate why https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba has been one of the strongest nations in the game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba, like the rest of the ICPD alliance, is currently in a very difficult position.
Venezuela has left, every member country is occupied, and the last uprising failed.
Do you believe this situation can change during your presidency?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
Many people look at the current situation and see a defeated alliance.
I see an alliance that has been tested.
Yes, Venezuela has left.
Yes, our nations are occupied.
Yes, the last uprising failed.
None of that changes the fact that wars are not decided by a single campaign, a single battle or a single setback.
History, especially Serbian, is full of examples where seemingly hopeless situations were turned around by determination, organization and patience.
Whether our circumstances change during my presidency remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba will continue to fight for its interests and support its allies wherever possible.
To our occupiers, I have only one message:
See you on the battlefield.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
Do you expect https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac858 to return to the alliance, or do you think they are gone for good?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
Since they switched to the mercenary path, the game has largely moved into what many would call an eco era.
There are fewer major bounty opportunities than before, so I imagine the mercenary lifestyle may not be as exciting as it once was.
Whether https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac858 returns is ultimately a decision only they can make.
From my perspective, there is no bad blood.
https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac858 was an important part of our alliance and we shared many victories and challenges together.
As far as I'm concerned, the door will always remain open for our Venezuelan brothers.
If they ever decide they want to return, they will be welcomed as friends.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
How can the ICPD improve?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
If we're talking specifically about ICPD, I don't believe the alliance itself requires major changes.
In my opinion, the biggest improvements need to come from the game mechanics.
Hopefully, the upcoming patch will introduce changes that make the strategic landscape more dynamic and exciting again.
As for ICPD's leadership, I think they have played their cards extraordinarily well given the circumstances.
No leadership team is perfect, and there have been a few mistakes along the way, but those mistakes were recognized, acknowledged, and learned from.
That's what matters most.
That said, if there's one thing we could improve, it might be the branding.
Perhaps a fresh coat of paint and a new name could do wonders for morale.
Wink, wink.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 6
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
What specific mistakes do you believe your predecessors made, both internally and externally, that you intend to avoid?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
First of all, I want to be careful when answering this question because my predecessors accomplished a great deal for https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba and every one of them remains involved in the government today as an advisor.
Their experience is one of our greatest strengths.
That said, if there is one lesson we have all learned from previous administrations, it is that we were sometimes too willing to extend goodwill and engage in dialogue with countries that had already demonstrated hostile intentions.
Diplomacy is important, but it must be balanced with realism. Good intentions alone do not guarantee good outcomes.
I don't view this as the mistake of any one president. Rather, it is a lesson learned collectively through experience.
The policies and decisions made during my mandate reflect that shared understanding.
In many ways, this is not just my opinion, but the conclusion reached by the current leadership team as a whole.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
One of the previous defeats led then-President https://app.warera.io/user/6813b764efecdf9bab195b66 to step down.
Was this entirely a personal decision, or was there internal pressure within the government or alliance to bring in new leadership?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
No, it was entirely a personal decision.
https://app.warera.io/user/6813b764efecdf9bab195b66 stepped down because the game was beginning to place too much strain on his personal life and I think anyone who has held a major leadership position in WarEra can understand how demanding that responsibility can become over time.
As I mentioned earlier, https://app.warera.io/user/6813b764efecdf9bab195b66 remains a member of my advisory council and continues to play an active role in helping guide the country.
In fact, he is one of the most helpful people I have met during my entire journey in WarEra.
His experience, knowledge and willingness to help others have been invaluable not only to me but to https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba as a whole.
His resignation was never about pressure from the government or the alliance.
It was simply a matter of prioritizing real life, which is something I believe everyone should respect.
Fortunately for us, while he may no longer hold the presidency, https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba still benefits greatly from his advice and experience.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 8
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
Are there any nations that you would prefer to have as allies rather than adversaries, if circumstances allowed for it?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
As much as I value our coalition and the friendships we've built within it, I think one of the game's current issues is that warfare has increasingly become coalition versus coalition rather than nation versus nation.
In many ways, national identity has taken a back seat to bloc politics.
Because of that, it's difficult for me to point to specific nations that I would rather have as allies or adversaries. Many relationships are shaped more by coalition membership than by the nations themselves.
If the upcoming patch successfully addresses this issue and restores a stronger sense of national identity in warfare and diplomacy, I think I'll be in a much better position to answer that question.
Ideally, I'd like to see a game where alliances are formed because of shared interests and circumstances rather than being permanently locked into two opposing camps.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 9
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
Do you have a plan to counter the economic strength generated by https://app.warera.io/country/683ddd2c24b5a2e114af1612, https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d546e731854c7ac845, and https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ae for the opposing alliance?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
War.
War never changes.
On a more serious note, economic strength is ultimately a tool, not an objective.
Strong economies fund armies, sustain wars and create strategic flexibility.
The question is not how to match every economic advantage on paper, but how to use the resources available to us as effectively as possible.
I won't go into operational details, but every strength has a corresponding weakness and every strategy has a counterstrategy.
The battlefield has always been where economic power is put to the test.
So for now, my answer remains the same: war. War never changes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question number 10
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
Where do you see https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba one month from now?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
One month from now, I see https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7ba and https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac7b6 doing what comes naturally: splitting the Balkans in half and calling it a fair compromise.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697b1c3375e83770b288d1db
Are you willing to die for the https://app.warera.io/country/69614d0e5d798a861630c58e?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6
Die for the https://app.warera.io/country/69614d0e5d798a861630c58e? No.
Would I help mend the Great Schism after we liberate Tsarigrad and recover the other Pentarchy seats?
Absolutely.
His Holiness and I may have our theological differences, but I am sure those can be resolved over a friendly discussion once Serbian and allied banners are flying over Tsarigrad once again.
Perhaps after the war, East and West can finally reconcile.
If not, we can always schedule another council and argue about it for the next thousand years.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This concludes our interview, i can only be thankful to my guest and good friend, https://app.warera.io/user/697558ff244a51dff0749db6.
