Q1. Can you introduce yourself to our readers?

I am Jan Alleman, Belgium's Minister of Foreign Affairs. I have joined the game 2 months ago, started getting involved with politics last month and am now an involved member in Belgium's community.

Q2. Belgium is one of the strongest damage countries on the map right now. How did you build that level of military power?

I won't spill Belgium's secrets here in the open, of course. For the alliance it's no secret, but I believe the key is unity and communication, which has led to our country excelling and being fully optimized to maximize our damage output week in, week out.

Q3. You currently occupy the UK and Ireland. Between Germany and the UK, who gave you the hardest fight?

I think you mean between the Irish and the UK? I must say, unlike for some other individuals in some of the opponents (ex)goverment, I very much respect both their goverment and members. Both of them put up a great fight, the Irish are great in numbers, and you could see they were still new, but for a lot of people a first war mode, I must commend the effort they put up!
If u mean Germany vs UK, clearly Germany put up the biggest fight, their sheer numbers alone is very daunting.

Q4. Vatou, the game owner himself, moved to Belgium. What does that feel like and did it change anything for the community?

We have many French speaking people here, as well as Dutch, and our main language is English to compensate between the two, so for that nothing much changes. We're still us, Belgium, not much will change for the community. We just got so good we needed additional supervision. We will teach Vatou how the game works while he's here.

Q5. Belgium is part of a new alliance called The Inglorious Basterds alongside Netherlands, Egypt, Lithuania, Poland and Sierra Leone. What makes this alliance different from what came before?

We're simply adapting to ever changing game mechanics. This doesn't suddenly change anything to the relationships we've built over the months with other countries. On the topic of this update though, when an update pushes you to almost release lands and punishes expansion and occupying big countries like Germany, something is wrong with the game mechanic. But that's another debate I hope council and devs will have.

Q6. The game just dropped a massive update that reworks alliances, diplomacy, paper economy and party ethics. How is Belgium preparing for these changes?

We've had internal discussions at length with all parties involved, now it's just a matter of seeing what they will change based on our feedback. We'll have to wait and see, but Belgium's not going anywhere, that's for sure.

Q7. The new alliance system means alliances now have real maintenance costs and development-based upkeep. Does that concern you or does Belgium have the economy to handle it?

As mentioned before, a game that discourages expansion like this has a problem in my opinion, but as always we'll adapt, find the meta, and continue dominating.

Q8. How would you describe the relationship between Belgium and Morocco?

We've fought alongside each other. I wouldn't say we have a big history, but we've bled together and that shapes a bond. Morocco has quite a few newer players if I am not mistaken, so I am looking forward to seeing them grow and turn into war beasts, and therefore Morocco's damage output increasing.

Q9. Fight Club dominated the map under the old system. Do you see the update reshaping the balance of power?

As I said, we adapt, find the meta, and dominate. We've proven this.

Q10. Is there a player or faction on the map that you personally respect the most?

There's a lot of people I have respect for in this game. I wouldn't necessarily say a whole alliance block. I respect KyleTheTank for what he's done for his country, standing up against racists and people with fascist beliefs is not easy when they run the country, and he did so. I will always respect that. It's a game in the end and we stand united against issues like this. This game has issues with people with extreme beliefs and it's time they get called out more and face the consequences. The community knows who I am talking about, and so do the people I am calling out. We will continue fighting this issue. Oh, konkelboar from Sweden as well.
