Q1. Can you introduce yourself to our readers?

I'm Crowley III the current Pope, I lead a small alliance called the Holy League which ultimate goal is capturing Jerusalem and I'm mostly known for my schizoposting.

Q2. How did you end up in the role of the Pope in this war?

The world is divided in two main blocks, olive oil and ICPD. Smaller blocks like the Holy League which the Vatican is part of always had more enemies on the side of the olive oil alliance than the ICPD, so we slowly drifted towards more negative relations with Italy which got angry at us during the first crusade because we were targeting one of their allies. After a while we simply understood that our goals are impossible to achieve until the olive oil alliance falls and the moment Italy helped their brothers Spain and Portugal fall was a signal to act.

Q3. Italy is currently occupying Vatican City. How does it feel to lead the Vatican while your own capital is under occupation?

The church was oppressed many times in history, that doesn't really scare us. It's better to fight what you believe rather than bow to keep your land.

Q4. Do you see any realistic chance of reclaiming Vatican City or is the situation currently out of your hands?

Land control always depends on which block is winning. We'll definitely make keeping it occupied painful.

Q5. What is the Vatican's official position on the current conflicts happening across the map?

We support Germany. They have been oppressed many times and are basically fighting a global coalition.

Q6. Do you believe religion plays a role in how factions fight and make decisions in this war?

To some perhaps, but the majority not really. Most alliances are made because of common enemies or simply because some players like each other.

Q7. Are there different factions inside the Vatican?

Not really factions, some people prefer to decide which side they want to fight which doesn't bother me but I don't think it's efficient without bonuses.

Q8. Morocco and the Vatican are on opposite sides. Do you see any possibility of dialogue or peace between us?

Dialogue is always an option, but unfortunately until Morocco is oppressing our Latin brothers in Iberia we don't see what to talk about.

Q9. What is the hardest decision you have made so far in this role?

Having to push away a player I liked but that was toxic toward others.

Q10. How do you see the balance of power on the map right now?

Olive oil having the upper hand and Germany resisting. I would say the ICPD lacks economic powerhouses like the other faction. Poland, Egypt and South Africa are able to send thousands to help their allies and South Africa specifically has a broken position.

Q11. Is there any faction you respect even if you are against them?

Faction not really, players I do. For Egypt for example https://app.warera.io/user/691e02d933063ef3c6f724dfand https://app.warera.io/user/695bfdc22c5a58564674a000 even if ironically enough both are currently outside of Egypt. I generally appreciate anyone able to look beyond their faction.

Produce lead in the Vatican.

Perhaps? I'm not sure I will be the Pope in the next few weeks. We might have someone more reconciliatory that could reach a deal or the war could simply go the other way around.

Remember it's a game and don't get carried by emotions. A lot of higher level players really dislike each other which I can hardly understand. Other than that pray for peace.
