Vote the Potato into congress

My fellow Belgians

It is once again that magical time of the month when we all pretend Congress is a vital institution and everyone suddenly becomes an experienced statesman.

After some careful consideration (roughly 17 seconds), I have decided to run as well.

Why?

Excellent question. I genuinely don't know. My name is on_met_la_patate, and I bring absolutely nothing to the table.

Some candidates have experience in congress, some have been here longer than me, some bring wisdom, strategy, and a level of seriousness this game probably deserves. And I have my occasional potato moments (BAF commanders can confirm).

But why choose the potato?

In short: time and goesting.

• I log in every single day and will be present (e.g. coincidently, work is quiet this month)

• I love the political system (e.g. I have successfully found the "Vote" button before)

• I do not have the intention to start a civil war (take notes, Judas de Bolle)

• I have only mildly embarrassed Belgium on the international stage (classified)

• My Discord notifications are under control.

What will I do if elected?

Honestly; I’ll read some things, pretend to fully understand them, and click either yes or no. But I’ll do it fast. And occasionally I’ll ask “what are we voting for now?”.

So; vote for the patate.

Unlike many politicians, I won't promise greatness. I won't promise change. I won't promise to revolutionize Belgium. I promise to remain spectacularly, consistently, and reliably average.

So if you're looking for competence...there are probably other candidates.

Yet, if you're looking for someone who will show up, press buttons, occasionally have an opinion, and never pretend to be the smartest person in the room...
