Dear fellow Belgians,
Some people keep reminding me that I burned through an alarming number of Belgian fighter jets while defending the motherland.
They're right.
But those jets weren't doing Belgium any good sitting in a hangar, were they?
Now... was it the smartest thing I've ever done?
Absolutely not.
Then again, I've never claimed to be a smart man.
I saw Belgium under attack. I saw jets. I connected the dots.
Maybe I connected the wrong dots... but I connected them with conviction.
