War Era: A Game Worth Being Cautious About
There is currently no evidence that War Era is malicious software or spyware. The official Android app does not appear to request sensitive permissions such as the camera, microphone, or GPS, and Google Play states that data is encrypted during transmission.
However, there are legitimate reasons to question its privacy and transparency. The game uses data such as Google account information and gameplay data, may require phone-number verification in some cases, and relies on IP addresses and device identifiers to detect multiple accounts.
The main concern is that its privacy policy does not clearly explain all of these practices, how long the data is retained, or exactly how it may be used, even though the company is registered in France and operates within the European data-protection framework.
Therefore, there is not enough evidence to call War Era a “spy game,” but it is also difficult to consider its privacy practices completely transparent. And since the game and its developer are connected to a French company, this may give some users an additional reason for caution, especially given France’s political positions and policies that may affect their level of trust. However, this remains a political and personal consideration—not technical evidence of malicious intent.
