War Was Not the First Choice

We keep hearing accusations about "betrayal" and "abandoning brothers," but there is one important fact that cannot be ignored.

Sudan did not choose war as its first option.

For more than three months, the Sudanese government pursued diplomatic and peaceful solutions to recover its territory. Negotiations were given a chance. Patience was shown. Every effort was made to avoid conflict.

But patience is not endless.

When peaceful proposals are delayed, ignored, or continuously postponed, a nation eventually faces a difficult choice: accept the loss of its land or defend its sovereign rights.

War was not the preferred path. It was the last path left.

No nation celebrates conflict. No nation wishes to see disputes settled through force. But it is unfair to condemn Sudan for taking action while ignoring months of attempts to resolve the issue peacefully.

True friendship is not measured by words spoken in comfortable times. It is measured by respect for sovereignty, justice, and the legitimate rights of nations.

History will remember that Sudan sought a peaceful solution first.

And history will also remember who chose to ignore that fact.
