One of the important things I've noticed in War Era is that fighting is much more than just clicking attack. your equipment, health, food, orders and even the moment you decide to fight can change how useful your damage actually is, so here are some things worth knowing before spending resources in battle.
1. Know What Your Equipment Does
Every equipment piece has a different purpose:
Weapon improves your damage and critical chance.
Helmet helps with critical damage.
Vest & Pants improve your armor.
Gloves help with accuracy.
Boots improve your dodge chance.
Ammo is needed for your weapon and also affects your damage.
Equipment also has different rarities:
Gray → Green → Blue → Purple → Yellow → Red
Better rarity can mean stronger equipment, but that doesn't mean you need expensive gear for every battle, sometimes saving your good equipment is the smarter option.
2. Check Where You're Fighting
Before attacking, check the battle, there are Country Orders and Military Unit Orders, and they exist for a reason, If your country or MU is trying to win a specific battle, putting your damage there can be much more useful than simply attacking whatever is available.
3. Health Is Basically Your Fighting Fuel
Attacking consumes Health, when your Health gets low, you'll need to wait for regeneration or recover it using food.
You can use:
Bread
Steak
Cooked Fish
Each restores a different amount of Health, while eating consumes Hunger.
So if you're planning to fight a lot, don't only prepare equipment, check your Health and Hunger too.
4. Accuracy and Dodge
Your Gloves affect accuracy, while Boots affect dodge.
If you miss an attack, you can still lose Health while dealing no damage.
If your opponent dodges your attack, the result is also different.
That's why simply stacking damage isn't the whole combat system, actually landing your attacks matters too.
5. Save Your Best Resources
Something I've found useful is separating normal fighting from important fighting, you don't necessarily need your best equipment, food and other resources every time you see a battle, If an important war is coming, having those resources available can be much more valuable.
The same applies to Pills, they provide a powerful temporary damage boost, so timing their use around a serious fighting session makes much more sense than using one for a few random attacks.
6. Military Units Can Help a Lot
A Military Unit isn't only another group to join, an organized MU can coordinate where members fight, set orders and help concentrate damage where it's actually needed.
7. Prepare Before a Big Fight
Before committing to an important battle, I like the idea of checking everything first:
Health → Hunger → Food → Ammo → Equipment → Battle Order
It only takes a moment, but it can prevent you from entering a fight and realizing halfway through that you're missing something.
Final Thought:
The biggest thing I've noticed is that good combat isn't only about having the strongest weapon, knowing where to fight, managing Health and Hunger, using the right equipment and saving valuable resources for important battles can make a big difference.
You don't always need to fight harder, sometimes you just need to fight smarter.
