First of all, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to https://app.warera.io/user/6914c6cfdf870cbb88a088c4 who helped me get to grips with the new alliances API. This fast update was all down to his help, and it's definetely worth checking out his tool too! You can find it here: https://crommvardek.github.io/warera-explorer/.
Now, let's start.
Hello everyone! A few days ago I released a major update for the diplomacy tool, which you can read about here ( https://app.warera.io/article/6a22f40286c47b4a7283136b ), and of course https://app.warera.io/user/6813b758efecdf9bab195068 has decided to release the alliance update today... and thank goodness I won’t have to update the blocs manually anymore!!!
/me is the happiest player on the face of WarHearth.
So today I’m proud to present version 3.1 – a complete overhaul of how alliances work on the map.
Let’s dive in.

The biggest change is invisible but massive. Until now, the tool relied on a manually maintained CSV file to define alliances. It worked, but it was never real‑time, and it often lagged behind actual in‑game politics.
v3.1 connects directly to WarEra’s newest update. Every alliance you see on the map is fetched in real time from the game database, finally!
What this means for you:
New alliances appear instantly – no waiting for me to update a spreadsheet.
Nation memberships are 100% accurate, pulled from the same data the game uses.
The map now respects temporary alliances, war coalitions, and suspended members (the API already handles those flags).
schemeOne problem with this update is alliance colors tho, as alliance leaders can choose the same color for differen alliances (yes, i look at you Atlas and The inglourious basterds!) so you couldn’t tell at a glance which bloc was which. No more.
v3.1 reads the scheme field from each alliance (e.g., pink, violet, lightBlue) and maps it to a consistent, readable color that respects the game’s original palette.
But what if two different alliances share the same scheme? The tool now applies a smart hue shift – it starts from the base scheme color and rotates the hue in small increments (20° steps) until it finds an unused colour. The result: two “red” blocs will look like distinct shades of red (crimson, orange‑red, etc.), never drifting into stange color. The family resemblance is preserved, but you can tell them apart.

A feature i had before was the name block on map, but sometimes it was cramped with nations names, and maybe other bloc names.
v3.1 calculates the geometric centre of each alliance by averaging the coordinates of its member nations (using the label positions from labelsData). Then it draws the bloc name at that location with a dark outline, making it readable even over dense borders.
Zoom in, zoom out, pan – the labels stay anchored to the bloc’s centre of mass. It’s a small addition that makes coalition planning much more intuitive.
And, moreover, now countries name appear only when you zoom in!
v3.1 is out, but I’m already planning the next big steps. Here’s a condensed roadmap:
🧹 Use In‑Game Defensive Pacts
The tool will fetch real in‑game defensive pacts directly from the WarEra API – no more typing country names. Your diplomatic map will reflect actual signed treaties, live.
📈 New & More Precise Statistics
Development per capita and damage efficiency (weekly damage / development).
NAP density – how many NAPs each nation has, and with whom.
More heatmap maps
🧮 Alliance Calculations & Bonuses
I want to surface alliance‑wide bonuses, development metrics etc inside the Bloc Statistics page.
if you have ideas or want to see something specific, drop me a message. The map is for the community – I just build it.

The WarEra Diplomatic Mode extension has been on the Chrome Web Store for a while, and it works perfectly with v3.1. If you haven’t tried it yet, now is a great time.
With one click, the extension overlays the entire Diplomatic OS directly onto the official WarEra map interface – no tab‑switching. It brings:
Geopolitical heatmaps (allies, wars, borderline nations)
Extended diplomacy logic (friends of friends, enemies of allies)
Manual NAP priority
High‑contrast borders, coastlines, and official flags
The same live alliance data from v3.1
Once installed, a “Diplomatic OS” button appears right on the game map. One click, and the world redraws itself with tactical clarity.

If these updates help you navigate the chaos of WarEra politics, consider buying me a coffee. Every cup keeps the features coming.
