This game was created to mimic the real world – but in digital form.
We, like the generation before us, have been pointing fingers at the wrong people for all these centuries: governments, authorities, those in power, and wars, destruction, and countless tragedies have befallen us. We have been saying that ranting and raving in the world are their fault.
But in this game, an awkward question arises.
No presidents are here. No governments. No politician determines each player's actions. All of the options are up to the players.
So what happened?
We might have created our own countries, engaged in commerce with each other, developed each other, and lived in harmony.
Rather, many opted for conquest.
We declared wars, formed rivalries, expanded our territory, and competed against each other to become the leading power. We didn't have to make these choices. They were organic and sprang from the players of the game.
Maybe that's what it is about.
A simulation is not just another model of the world. In some instances, it is the thoughts of the people whom it.
However, it cannot be said that governments and powerful institutions are blameless. These have responsibilities that others do not. But it is a reminder of a thing that we seldom confess.
The thirst for power starts without their being seated on the throne.
It starts with an individual.
Powerful people are not godless; they are human. What we condemn in them is what we have in us in miniature. Often, what was already there is emphasized by power.
It's important to ask a more subdued question before turning to those above us.
Would I make the same choices if I were given the chance again?
The biggest things that are going to change, for better or worse, rarely start with large-scale decisions. They start with normal decisions taken over an extended period of time. Habits are formed by small actions. Habits shape character. History, in time, reflects character.
“Behind every great design is a thousand unseen choices. The smallest act with its quiet cultivation, makes the greatest ambition; towards virtue or towards ruin.”
