Every formula and rule in WarEra, written down, with the source next to it and the level of proof stated.

FIFTY-TWO ENTRIES, SIX CHAPTERS

Combat 14, Warfare 9, Economy 8, Progression 7, Equipment and cases 7, Politics and diplomacy 7.

Search for a mechanic by name, crit, wage, resistance, pill, or read a chapter through. Both work, and the second is the one that teaches you something you were not looking for.

EVERY ENTRY SAYS HOW SURE IT IS

An entry carries the formula, the explanation, its sources, and a label for how it was established. Across the 52 entries those labels currently stand at: 17 from guides, 15 verified against the suite's own damage engine, 10 from the wiki, 9 official, 1 from the community.

That is the whole difference to a wiki. A wiki gives you the answer. This gives you the answer, where it came from, and how much weight to put on it, so you can disagree with it properly and know which entry to argue about.

Damage per hit, for example, is not stated as a slogan but as an order of operations: a hit resolves miss first, then crit, and a miss still deals half the attack. Anyone who has argued about crit chance in a Discord knows how much that order matters.

THE FACTOR THAT WAS HIDING IN A WORD

That same entry was rewritten on 7 September, and the reason is worth reading before you trust any formula anywhere.

It used to say expected damage equals attack times the precision and crit term. Correct, and useless: the whole multiplier chain sat inside the word attack, so a reader could not see that a magazine is part of every single hit. It now spells the chain out, flat attack times ammo times rank times pill times battle, in the order the engine applies it.

The number underneath is the part nobody expects. For a 261 attack firearm carrying 12 percent crit chance, light ammunition lifts the expected hit from 1029 to 2031. Only the last factor of 1.10 in that is the ammunition bonus. The rest is the gun working at all, because an unloaded firearm counts as a knife, 40 flat attack, and loses the crit and precision the weapon carries.

So "I ran out of ammo" is not a ten percent problem. It is a different weapon. A codex that only printed the multipliers on the box would have let you believe otherwise.

WHERE THE SOURCES DISAGREE, IT SAYS SO

Nine entries currently carry a conflict, and the conflict is printed rather than resolved silently.

  • Crit damage: the wiki's 2025 combat page says plus 50 % base, while the engine and the fight guide say plus 100 %.

  • Health: one guide's skill chapter says 50 to 150, while the corpus of live profiles says 100 to 200, and the fight guide agrees with the profiles.

  • The price of a sworn enemy: the launch notes say a flat 10 paper, the measurements in the Paper entry say roughly the declaring country's average development. For Germany that is 10 against 1617, so it is not a rounding question. Nobody has re-measured it since the launch week.

A single number would have been tidier and would have hidden the fact that two respectable sources contradict each other. When that happens the reader deserves both, plus the evidence that decided it.

THE RULES AND THEIR CHANGES, TOGETHER

Patch notes live here as well, in the same place as the rules they changed. A formula without its history is a formula you will misremember the moment it is balanced.

The developer publishes changes as in-game articles, and the suite reads the article feed every 30 minutes anyway, so a rule change reaches this page within the hour rather than whenever somebody remembers to copy it over.

IT IS ALSO THE FOUNDATION

The rest of the suite computes from these numbers. When the Planner prices a hit, when Cases prices a drop, when Muster totals a roster, this is the arithmetic underneath, written out where you can check it.

That is the real reason it exists. A tool that computes from numbers it will not show you is asking for trust it has not earned.
