Some of you already run stories in the newspaper: survival in the jungle, a heist, a war told episode by episode. The players comment their moves, the game master rolls and writes the next part. Tabletop takes the bookkeeping off the game master's desk. Your article stays the stage, Tabletop is the table behind it.

Below you find what it does, and at the end a step by step guide for your first adventure.

Type a name, press create. Before your first room the page asks you once to prove your WarEra account, the same way as on WarMatch: a code in a company name, in the profile description, or an odd donation to your country or unit.
Every room gets a join code, made from its name. Players type it together with their WarEra name, and their WarEra avatar becomes their character. Nobody has to sign up anywhere. You can also seat players yourself: type their WarEra names at the table, several at once with commas. In the settings you can pick your own code or make the room open: then it is listed on the page and anyone can join.

Every player gets a sheet:
six attributes taken from the WarEra profile
bars like Health, Hunger, Thirst and Morale, shown as boxes
items and notes
The attributes are not made up. Your level decides how many points you get, and your skill points decide where they go: Strength from attack, Dexterity from precision and dodge, Constitution from health and armor, Willpower from energy and entrepreneurship, Intelligence from production and companies, Luck from loot chance. Tap an attribute to see which skills feed it. Everyone starts at +1, so a fresh player still makes most easy rolls, and a level 50 fighter has about twice the points of a level 25 one.
Rolling is two taps: ROLL on a player's card, then easy, normal or hard. The server rolls a d20 plus the attribute against 8, 12 or 16. A 20 is always a critical and a 1 always a fumble. Other dice and modifiers wait under "more dice options".
EDIT on a card changes bars, items and notes, and adds temporary effects: a sprained ankle that costs two points of Dexterity until the end of the episode, or a good night's sleep that helps every check in the next one. Effects count on every roll and wear off on their own.
Out of ideas? Describe your setting once in the settings, then press RANDOM EVENT. The server rolls what kind of event it is, and our AI writes a scene for it that fits your setting and your characters, with a check and its consequences. You read it first, change it or ask for another one. When you take it, everyone it hits rolls, and the result goes straight onto their sheet.

Upload the picture of your map, lay a grid over it and mark fields as path, place or blocked. A place can carry a spot table: a list of what can be found or can happen there, which only you see.
Every player has a figure of their own. Pick one player or several, tap a field next to them and confirm: that is their move for the day. Players can split up and travel alone, or move on together, and a tap on a field picks everyone standing there. Each player moves one field per day, and NEXT DAY starts the next one. Reach a place with a table and one tap rolls on it. The players see the same map under fog: whatever any of them has seen is clear, the rest stays dark, but the land underneath shows through. Places stay hidden until someone gets close.

Every roll, every table result, every move on the map and every change to a bar goes into the log with its time. On a wide screen it sits right next to the table. The log only grows: nobody can change or delete a roll, not even the game master. At the end of an episode it turns into a summary you can paste into your next article.
Before the first article:
Open the page, type a room name under START A ROOM and press CREATE. Prove your account once, as described above.
In SETTINGS describe your setting in two or three sentences, choose private (code only) or open, and save. Below, add a spot table for every place that matters, one line per find or danger.
In MAP press CREATE MAP. Upload the same picture you use in your article, set columns and rows so one field is about a day of travel, mark paths, places and blocked fields, and press SAVE MAP. Then pick "Place players" and tap the starting field: everyone starts there unless you pick players first. Press DONE.
Write your article with the setting and the map, and put the link and your join code in it, for example: "Join at https://warera.unikhorne.dev/tabletop with your WarEra name and the code GAMBIA7." Players who join appear as cards at your table.
Every episode:
Read the comments under your article. Every move that can go wrong becomes a roll.
ROLL on the player's card, type what they try, pick an attribute and easy, normal or hard.
Put the consequences on the sheet with EDIT: bars, items, temporary effects.
Move the figures on the MAP when they travel, alone or together, and press NEXT DAY when the day is done. Arriving at a place, roll on its table.
Need a twist? RANDOM EVENT, check the scene, then ADD AND ROLL.
Write what happens under WHAT HAPPENS NEXT, with a picture if you have one.
At the end of an episode:
In LOG pick the episode and press COPY SUMMARY. Paste it into your next article and tell the story from there. A screenshot of the map shows readers where everyone stands.
Press NEXT EPISODE. With the tick, every bar except Health drops by one, so hunger and thirst keep biting. Effects that ran until the end of the episode wear off.
Players split up on the map? Tell their paths in separate paragraphs. The day is the same for everyone, so the stories stay in step.
Only the game master rolls, the players see every roll in the log. A room with no activity for 60 days is deleted.

https://warera.unikhorne.dev/tabletop

In jeder Folge:
