Moderating a game chat is unpaid, invisible and thankless. TopMod is a wall for saying thank you.
https://warera.unikhorne.dev/topmod

Moderators opt in themselves. There is no counter, no leaderboard and no ranking pressure, because the moment you count thanks you have built a competition, and a competition is exactly what this should not be.
A heart is one per visitor per moderator, for life. On top of that four reactions that renew daily: helpful, fair, fast response, friendly.
Four instead of one, because "thanks" is not one thing. The mod who answered at two in the morning and the mod who stayed calm in an ugly thread did different work, and a single counter would flatten both into the same number.

Nothing on a card is ever precise. Counts are shown as buckets, 5+, 25+, 100+, 250+, and the tiers above them are words rather than places: APPRECIATED from 5, HALL OF HEARTS from 25, LEGENDARY from 100.
A moderator who is thanked 260 times and one who is thanked 400 times both read as 250+. That is on purpose. The moment the number is exact, two people can be compared, and the page turns into the competition it was built to avoid.
Mod of the Week is the one place a pick happens, and even that carries a four week cooldown, so the same name cannot hold the slot by being popular rather than by being new.
That is the whole design. It is a small page and it is meant to stay small.
