Ferrus Manus - The Gorgon

1.The Gorgon of Medusa
Ferrus landed on the harsh, volcanic, and techno-barbaric world of Medusa.Ferrus spent his early years traveling alone, testing his endurance against the planet's brutal climate and monstrous biomechanical beasts.When local human clans tried to unite under him, he refused to rule them directly, believing that constant struggle was necessary for humanity to remain strong and self-reliant.
His defining moment on Medusa was his duel with Asirnoth, a colossal Great Silver Wyrm whose skin was liquid necrodermis metal. Realizing his weapons couldn't pierce its hide, Ferrus tackled the wyrm into a basin of boiling magma, holding it underwater until it melted. The molten metallic skin bonded permanently to his hands and forearms, giving him his iconic silver arms.

2.Meeting the Emperor
When the Emperor arrived on Medusa, Ferrus recognized his father’s power instantly. Rather than simply bowing, Ferrus challenged the Emperor to a duel of strength to test his worthiness.
Their duel lasted for days, leveling mountain ranges and altering Medusa’s landscape. Impressed by the Emperor’s godlike power and superior force, Ferrus willingly swore fealty and was given command of the X Legion.

3.The Iron Hands Legion
The Iron Hands became renowned for their relentless discipline and mastery of heavy mechanized warfare. Tanks, Dreadnoughts, artillery, and cybernetic enhancement became hallmarks of the Legion.
Ferrus believed that flesh was inherently weak and that machines offered greater reliability and perfection. This philosophy gradually evolved into the famous Iron Hands creed: "The flesh is weak."

4.The Gorgon's Strength
Ferrus Manus was one of the physically strongest Primarchs, renowned for his immense strength, unbreakable will, and relentless discipline. Known as The Gorgon of Medusa, he believed that true power came from overcoming weakness through determination and constant self-improvement.
His most iconic feature was his living metal hands, gained after slaying the great wyrm Asirnoth. The metallic coating gave him incredible grip strength and durability, allowing him to crush armor, bend steel, and wield massive weapons with ease.
Alongside Vulkan, Ferrus was the legendary smith among the Primarchs. He forged iconic weapons, including Fulgrim’s sword Fireblade and his own heavy warhammer Forgebreaker.

5.The Horus Heresy and Death of the Gorgon
When Horus turned against the Emperor, Ferrus Manus remained one of the most loyal Primarchs, refusing every attempt to join the rebellion. His greatest heartbreak came from Fulgrim, his closest brother and friend, who tried to convince him to abandon the Imperium. Ferrus rejected him, unable to accept the betrayal of someone he once trusted completely. Determined to stop Horus, Ferrus led the Iron Hands to Isstvan V, where the loyalist forces were betrayed during the infamous Dropsite Massacre. Surrounded by traitor Legions, Ferrus fought with unmatched fury, eventually confronting Fulgrim in a desperate duel.

Despite Ferrus strength and determination, Fulgrim corrupted by chaos defeated him and claimed his life by beheading him with the blade Fireblade. Ferrus became the first Primarch to fall during the Horus Heresy.
His death broke the Iron Hands and shaped their future forever. Consumed by grief and anger, they embraced cybernetic enhancement even more deeply, believing that replacing weak flesh with machine would prevent another tragedy like the loss of their Primarch.

His flesh failed, but his iron will endured. :Salute:
