As we can all see, Venezuela has officially given up on Central America. After renting your territories and selling you empty promises of "freedom," they did what they always do: abandoned their allies the moment the war reached their doorstep.
Will this be the turning point where the Central American countries finally wake up? It is time to stop acting as human shields for a foreign power and unite against being used.
When Venezuela realized they were losing the war, they simply withdrew to save their own resources, leaving Nicaragua and El Salvador completely exposed. They know full well that these countries will now face the American alliance alone. Make no mistake, this is exactly the fate waiting for Honduras and Guatemala as well.
I am not here to tell you to join the American side. I know the history and I know the hate many of you have for the US. But I am telling you to cut ties with the cowards who sold you out. Central America must stand together, self-sufficient and independent, relying only on mutual agreements rather than submitting to Venezuelan control.
It is truly sad to see four nations deceived like this. As a former President and active participant in Nicaragua, my advice is simple: take your destiny into your own hands.
