Little Boy on 06.08.1945

World War II: An American B-29 bomber dropped an atomic bomb called "Little Boy" on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. 80,000 people died at the site, and another 60,000 died from the effects of radiation by the end of the year. It is assumed that the bomb killed a total of 200,000 people.

The exact measurement of the explosive yield of the bomb was problematic since the weapon had never been tested. In April 1945 a conservative estimate of the explosive power of "Little Boy" for the Target committee was then 5,000 to 15,000 tons of TNT.

A 1985 study estimated the bomb's yield was around 15 kilotons of TNT
