I'm a new player, and honestly, War Era can be a little confusing when you first join.
There are companies, production, energy, hunger, wars, politics, markets and a lot of different things competing for your attention.
So instead of pretending to be an expert, I wanted to share a few things I've learned during my first days that might help other new players.
Don't Try to Understand Everything Immediately
This was probably my first mistake, when you open the game, you see experienced players with businesses, money, equipment and established countries, It's tempting to think you need to catch up immediately.
Your first objective should simply be understanding how your daily actions work and making sure you're actually using them.
A small amount of progress every day is better than spending everything because you don't yet understand what it's for.
Don't Spend Something Just Because, this is something I'm learning quickly....
When you're new, every resource looks replaceable because you don't know yet which ones will become important later.
Before spending something unfamiliar, I now try to find out:
What does this do?
How difficult is it to get another one?
Will I need it for something more important later?
Sometimes five minutes of asking around can prevent a mistake that takes days to fix.
Ask Experienced Players Questions
This community has players who understand things that aren't immediately obvious from looking at the game.
Use that.
I've realized that asking a seemingly stupid question is much cheaper than making an expensive mistake, and if someone takes the time to explain something to you, remember it. Eventually you'll be able to give that same advice to another new player.
That's how a community grows, your first goal shouldn't be becoming rich, at least that's what I'm starting to realize.
Right now I'm more interested in building a foundation, understanding the market, learning what my resources are worth.
And, most importantly, avoiding unnecessary mistakes.
The money and power can come later, one thing I already like about war era is that your account doesn't exist in isolation.
Countries need active citizens, companies need workers. Markets need buyers and sellers. Wars need soldiers.
A Message to Other New Players
If you just started too, don't worry about being behind, learn one system at a time, ask questions, save things you don't understand, be active and find people willing to teach you.
I'm still learning myself, so I'll probably look back at this article eventually and laugh at some of the things I didn't know yet.
I want to document the journey from the beginning, if you're an experienced player and you have advice for new players, leave it in the comments. I'll actually read it.
And if you'd like to help a new player get started, any donation is genuinely appreciated. ❤️
Maybe one day I'll be the veteran helping the next new account, thanks for reading.
