Imagine waking up in Ancient Greece and discovering that someone has invented Warera.io. Instead of fighting with swords and shields, people would now be fighting for territory with a computer and a very suspicious amount of free time.
The first problem would be the Greeks. Athens would probably spend all day creating a democratic government and then immediately vote to invade Sparta. Sparta, on the other hand, would have one goal: become the strongest country on the server. Their national strategy would simply be "attack everyone."
The famous Greek philosophers would also become addicted to the game. Socrates would spend hours asking questions like, "What is the meaning of war?" while secretly checking the map every five minutes. Plato would write an entire book explaining why his country is actually the perfect state.
Of course, the biggest problem would be Alexander the Great. He would probably open the game, look at the map, and immediately say, "I can conquer this." A few weeks later, he would control half the server and complain that the map is too small.
In the end, Ancient Greece would probably become the most competitive Warera.io military union in history. Sparta would rage after losing one battle, Athens would hold a meeting about it, and Socrates would somehow get banned for asking too many questions.
History might have been very different. Instead of Alexander the Great conquering the world with an army, he might have done it with a keyboard, a mouse, and absolutely no intention of touching grass.
