Why we fight - a background into our conflict with The Federation

Recently, certain grave accusations have been thrown at us by “The Federation” (formerly the Asian Federation), claiming that Australians are warmongers who want to fight aimlessly.

This is nothing more than an attempt to dehumanise us, isolate us from our allies, and garner support for their cause. I wanted to take the time to publish this article as a four-chapter saga explaining the background of the Federation, its corruption, and the real reason we have been fighting them for the past six months.

CHAPTER ONE - A NEW HOPE?

"You can't win, Kysely. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."

The Asian Federation was formed over 6 months ago with Australia and Indonesia being part of its founding members, Taiwan joining shortly after. It was originally formed as a "defensive alliance" for the stability of Asia (East Asia specifically), and to resist foreign influence and expansion.

However, it quickly was bogged down in red-tape wherein Kysely and India became very focused on making it like a model United Nations with voting, a charter, elections etc. Every nation had 1 vote irrespective of its size or population. It became very apparent that small nations with very few members, who happened to be Kysley's friends, were voting on whatever agenda he wanted and Australia was getting outvoted almost every time.

CHAPTER TWO - A PHANTOM MENACE

Kysely became increasingly emboldened and dictatorial in the way he exercised power and began demanding things from Federation members that he had no authority to demand under the Federation’s own charter. This included forcing members to break close alliances with other countries and helping the Federation against them in offensive actions.

This was demanded of Taiwan against their ally Malaysia, and later Australia against our ally Taiwan after it had left the Federation.

It came to a flashpoint after the then-government of China stated they did not want to participate in politics anymore and were withdrawing from the country.

Taiwan stated its intention to take some regions of China since they were no longer governed. This was declined by India and Kysely without any vote whatsoever. They instead decided to divide China up between other members who were more loyal to Kysely and then install a government of Kysely's friends. Outraged by this, and the issue with Malaysia mentioned before, Taiwan then left the alliance and declared war.

CHAPTER THREE - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

After Taiwan left the Federation, Australia was in a difficult position. We did not want to fight our very close ally Taiwan. We did not want to break our alliance with them.

Kysely became increasingly angry and impatient and started increasing pressure towards us. The AF also voted to include outside powers such as Turkey into the alliance, a Turkish proxy into the Philippines, as well as inviting Poland and Lithuania to help them in the war with Taiwan (which they were losing) for the offer of Chinese regions!

So obviously this angered us - why deny an AF member Taiwan the Chinese regions, but then give them up to a foreign power that the alliance was set up to resist?! This, coupled with the increasing pressure on us to fight our close ally became too much, and thus we left the alliance, and supported Taiwan in their war against the AF.

We have been fighting them ever since.

CHAPTER FOUR - THE FORCE AWAKENS

History repeated itself with Indonesia. A loyal member of AF since the beginning, they offered to buy Sabah region for a hefty sum of money, but was outvoted and the region was given to Philippines FOR FREE who recently got a babyboom and, of course, Kysely was VP there. They finally saw the grip Kysely had on the alliance that we had been saying from the start, so they left and declared war. We immediately allied with them as any enemy of AF is a friend of ours!

EPILOGUE - WHAT THE FEDERATION ACTUALLY WANTS

Slowly AF has been incorporating more and more members closer to Australia. Fiji, Vanuatu and lastly Papua New Guinea. Then they fill them with proxies from India (the best ally we never had) or Philippines.

They ultimately want us to be restricted to our core regions and surrounded by proxy members until our population gets bored and leaves. It is a strategy of sterilization and we will not stand for it. We would rather fight alongside our allies than accept terms that only involve us keeping our cores and being surrounded by AF members!
