ZenoRSA's campaign on WarUrna
ZenoRSA - CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDACY
I am putting my name forward for Congress, and I am doing it before the race formally opens.
That is deliberate, and it is the first thing I would ask you to judge me on. Declaring early costs me the option of waiting to see who else stands and positioning myself against them. What it buys is time: time for you to read what I propose, time to ask me questions, and time to change your mind before you vote. I would rather campaign on a document than against friends who are also running and who share our commitment to this country.
It is also the habit I would bring to the job. In foreign policy the country that moves first writes the terms. The country that waits gets handed an outcome. If you want a representative who commits early, in writing, and then stands behind it, this announcement is the sample.
WHY A ONE-MONTH-OLD PLAYER
I cannot speak for the wise old gentlemen and ladies also standing. I can tell you what you would be getting.
ANALYSIS. I am stuck in eco mode, and I would rather make that a boon than a curse. While others fight, I have time to read the game properly. I have spent weeks pulling War Era's own event data and working out what it shows: who is gaining ground and who is only spending, which pacts hold and which quietly stop answering. Some of you have seen the results in my articles.
DIPLOMACY AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS. This is the seat I want. Diplomacy here is correspondence, argument, and reading the other side accurately, which is what I do for a living outside this game.
AVAILABILITY. I am in Discord, I read what is posted, and I answer.
FIVE MEASURES I WILL PUSH
A PUBLISHED PACT DOCTRINE. Pacts are signed and broken constantly, by everyone, and every one of those events is public. Our word is a measurable asset. I will push for a written standard: what we require before we sign, what justifies breaking, and notice to the other party before we do. A country known to give notice is a country worth signing with.
AN ALLIES LEDGER. For every partner we hold a pact with, I will track whether they turned up when it counted, and engage them where the commitment fell short. We all watched what happened to Namibia when its patron decided the arrangement had become inconvenient. Nobody should find that out twice.
A SOUTHERN AFRICAN BLOC BEFORE DISTANT PATRONS. Our neighbours share our borders, our timezone and our exposure. Great powers protect us until protecting us stops paying. I will push for durable regional agreements over prestige alignments with powers that drop us the moment the arithmetic turns.
COST DISCIPLINE ON EVERY OFFENSIVE. Last week we paid roughly 135 million damage per region gained, among the worst rates in the game. South Sudan took eight regions for less damage than we spent on two. No offensive should be committed to without a plain estimate of what it costs and what it returns, tabled before we go.
A ROUTE IN FOR NEW PLAYERS. Correspondence, monitoring and reporting are jobs a two-week-old player can do well and learn from. I will push to hand real diplomatic tasks to new members rather than leaving them to grind alone until they drift off.
Every Sunday, in Discord and in game, I will post what I did that week, what I supported, what I opposed, and why. You should not have to ask.
ASK ME ANYTHING
I am running an AMA. Post any question in the thread: about the manifesto, about my record, about what I do not yet know. I will answer all of them. Upvote the ones you want answered first and I will work down the list in that order. I would rather be questioned hard now than elected on a document nobody interrogated.
Since I joined, the old hands have taken this country from occupied and written off to sovereign, solvent and holding real partnerships. I want to learn from them, not replace them. I am asking for the chance to be useful while I do it.
