ENG: The enemy wanted to impose an unjust, unacceptable peace on us. It is sad to see how Germany, with whom we have a historic relationship, mocks Italy's resilience and dedication.
Our strength has belied such unacceptable assumptions, and thanks to the crucial support of our allies, we have demonstrated strength not only in terms of arms, but also in the spirit of friendship and solidarity that distinguishes the Italian Republic.
My hope, and I think that of many others, is that this will be cause for reflection, so that a defeated country is not humiliated, and that Germany, though defeated, will understand and respect the resilience of the Italian people. Let us end the conflict with the hope of a better future and the desire to build, with our allies, a union based on equality and solidarity among peoples.

ITA: Il nemico voleva imporci una pace ingiusta, irricevibile. É triste vedere come la Germania con cui abbiamo un rapporto storico, sbeffeggi la resilienza e la dedizione dell'Italia.
La nostra forza ha smentito tali supponenze inaccettabili e grazie all'aiuto fondamentale dei nostri alleati, abbiamo dimostrato la forza non solo meramente armata ma anche di quella dello spirito di amicizia e di solidarietà che contraddistingue la Repubblica italiana.
La speranza mia, ma penso anche quella di molti, è che ciò sia motivo di riflessione affinchè non sia umiliato un Paese sconfitto e che la Germania seppur vinta, comprenda e rispetti la resilienza del popolo italiano. Poniamo fine al conflitto con la speranza di un avvenire migliore e l'auspicio di costruire coi nostri alleati, un'unione basata sull'uguaglianza e la solidarietà tra i popoli.
